This Year's Model Updates:

The Grand Prix underwent a redesign for 2004, but those familiar with the big sedan will find its blend of performance and comfort hasn't changed much.

Pros:
  • Strong supercharged V6, nimble handling, attractive gauges, easy-to-use controls, big trunk, fold-flat front-passenger seat.
Cons:
  • Build and materials quality still needs work, tight backseat, noisy engine, not enough storage or cupholders, no auto climate control.

  • Good car - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

Its a fairly good car. Not very expensive for what its gives. I love love the feeling and the sound of the supercharged 3.8 liers engines. It would be funnier with a 5 or 6 speed transmition rather dans just 4.

Out-performs anything else at the same price. Great looks, excellent comfort.

  • No leg room! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
    By -

We have only one complaint about this car - the leg room in the backseat. If you put the front seats back as far as they will go, there is absolutely no leg room in the back. You also cannot put the rear seats down if the front seats are too far back. The 99 Grand Am we traded in for this car had so much more room. Otherwise, this is a great car. Drives great, looks great, we just cant have any backseat passengers.

Test drove one on the 24-hour test drive and ended up buying a black 2004 GTP COMP-G. I have owned other Pontiacs but I always wanted a Grand Prix and this car has not disappointed. Performance was unrivaled having tested other cars of similar size and price. Exhaust note and exterior looks make this more like a sports car than a four door sedan. If you load the car up with all the bells and whistles, you will find it to be one of the best deals around. Great job GM. As far as negatives go, this car has been spotless in the mechanical reliability department but I did have pin hole leak in the trunk and one interior rattle. Both issues were fixed without question by a great service departmen

I have been driving my 2004 GTP for 4 weeks. It is tons of fun and very responsive. Plenty of power and excellent handling.

This is my 3rd grand prix I had a 95 which I was not impressed with but decided to give it another shot with an 03 which I loved and then decided to trade in on an 04 for the more adult design. I would recommend this car to anyone. I have taken it in many road trips I bought it at 74k miles and it now has 107k less than 2 years later. No problems! My friends love it, my parents love it, and I still look forward to driving it everyday. My favorite car that I have owned.

  • Some problems with Comp G - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
    By -

I was initally very pleased with my car but since purchase it has developed a problem with steering with grinding and clicking and GM does know the problem exists but does not know how to fix it. Power is excellent but could use more head room at 61. Love the way it looks but frustrated with my problem.

  • Well it has the bells and whistles! - 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix

My wife and I were out to purchase a new (used) car and we had found one we liked but my wife would not let me purchase it. She said it didnt have enough bells and whistles to make me happy. So we continued to look and I am glad we did, this car is not only functional for my family (4 of us) it is a kick to drive! It has power that wont quit, I am the envy of all my students at school!
