Overview & Reviews
The 2004 GTO is an all-new rear-wheel-drive performance car from Pontiac. Although it is new to the U.S. market, it is based on a car sold by GM's Australian subsidiary, Holden, under the Monaro nameplate.
- Powerful V8, rear-wheel drive, predictable handling from fully independent suspension, loaded with standard features.
- Forgettable styling, numerous standard features make it an expensive proposition.

Wow - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By jkcook - June 14 - 10:00 amWas fully impressed from the first moment with this car and two thousand miles later I still havent gotten the smile off of my face. Before buying, I probably was able to put 20 miles on the car with the salesman in the right seat, so was unable to realy get a full feal for the car until after all the paperwork was signed and drove home. That first drive feeling was unbelievable. It is fun to drive at speed or slowing moving down the road and is still fun to catch the glimpses of other drivers who either catch the GTO badge on the side or the 5.7 on the rear. The inside is perfect and the fit andthe finish is flawless.

My 3rd GTO - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By Robert & Connie Lee - June 14 - 10:00 amI have owned 15 new pontiacs, including 2 other GTOs. Although the exterior styling is somewhat bland this by far is the hightest quality Pontiac I have owned. It is also the fastest in Stock Form even faster than the 1970 GTO Judge Convertale that I owned. the Handling is Precise, The Interior will rate up there with any General Motors product that has been built to date.

Great car - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By GOAT CONVERT - June 9 - 6:50 pmExcellent car, everything the edmunds review says it is. Great handling, power, comfort, and surprisingly fuel economy( 28 mpg hwy ) understated appearance, much like the first generation gto looked like grandmas tempest with a hot rod engine. Love the car !!

A Wonderful Ride - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By Margaret Kelley - May 14 - 10:00 amAs usual, GTO handles fantastic, has a quick start and is a joy to drive. Gas, well, being an 8 cyl., not to expect a 4 cyl. mileage, but driven conserverately, is fine - sure but then who drives conservately. Sound system is great!!

My Blue Goat - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By BlueGoat FL - May 2 - 10:00 amThe torque...the speed...the handling...Need I say more? This car pretty much has it all!It is by far the coolest and most fun car I have ever owned. I will admit the exterior styling is a bit lacking but once I got behind the wheel none of that mattered. The car speaks for itself. In mine opinion its destined to become a classic.

Nearly perfect! - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By sspdfreek - April 17 - 5:16 amI love nearly everything about this car! The power is outstanding, the comfort of the seats and controls is fantastic. I love the fact that you dont see a lot of them on the road. My first time in the car, i drove it 900 miles to get it home. I averaged over 27 miles per gallon! The power is very addicting and that doesnt help with the rising fuel prices.

GTO - 2004 Pontiac GTO
By Ronald Hall - March 21 - 10:00 amI drive 35 miles each way to and from work. The GTO is a real fun car to drive. Its a fast car that will easily beat the Mustang GT. My brother has a 2003 Mustang Cobra and we ran them 3 times. I won the first one but unfortunately he won the following two but none of the three races were run away wins and 2 of the three were decided by less than a car length. My brother likes my car as much as he likes his and concedes that my interior is much better with the exception of the stereo. We both agree that the GTO stereo sucks and that my cousins Monte Carlo has a better stock stereo. In close I guess its like this. The GTO is a refined sports coupe thats fun to drive with great power.
