Overview & Reviews
The Pontiac G6 sees a host of changes for the 2006 model year. Starting things off are two new body styles: a two-door coupe and a hardtop convertible. The coupe will be available at the beginning of the model year, while the convertible hits dealer showrooms early in the 2006 calendar year. There are also new trim levels. A four-cylinder base sedan caters to those shoppers on a tighter budget, while a GTP trim increases the G6's performance threshold via the addition of a new 240-hp V6, stability control and an available six-speed manual transmission.
- Huge rear seat, fuel-efficient V6 engines offer ample low-end pull, sporty suspension tuning, power hardtop in convertible model, panoramic sunroof in sedan.
- Cheap interior plastics, numb electric steering, panoramic sunroof eats up rear-seat headroom.

G6 is underated - 2006 Pontiac G6
By chris - March 11 - 7:36 amThis car has power good handling and comes with a sports car attitude... Ive had mine used for over a year now and i havent had any major problems on it at all and i drive it hard. The only thing i think that gives this car a bad rap is the Pontiac logo on the front...

Charlies review - 2006 Pontiac G6
By charlie2011 - February 8 - 5:36 pmI love this car. It is stylish and fun to drive. The only complaint I have is that the power steering keeps going out on it when you least expect it. It has been a otherwise very lovable car.

Great Vehicle - 2006 Pontiac G6
By knightrider - February 7 - 12:53 amWe bought this G6 new back in march 2005. Took it on a 1600 mile trip and got a whopping 34 mpg highway. Was very impressed due that the sticker said 20 city and 29 highway. Im getting 23 in city driving all with the a/c on. Have taken the car back to the dealership twice because the foot control pedals never worked since day one. The dealership replaced a control module and it worked for a month and now have another module on order. The rear windows down and the front up makes a real bad air fluttering noise inside the passenger compartment. The 3.5L is very strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. Glad we traded our 2005 gas hog Jeep Liberty in on it. Very Beautiful car.

Questions unanswered - 2006 Pontiac G6
By LFT - January 21 - 3:16 pmThe car needs work. It isnt too bad for the price, but the small 2.4L should get better MPG and the same old GM issues with never correcting anything exists.

Awesome Car - 2006 Pontiac G6
By Sullivan - January 11 - 8:46 amThe G6 is amazing. I have had my for a little over a month and I love everything about it. The V6 engine has nice pick-up. The 6 disc stereo and sound system is great. The seats are comfortable, the back seat is really roomy. It is just a really fun car to drive. I have the regular sunroof (not the panoramic) and I love it, it has a net in the front of it as a sound buffer to keep a lot of sound out and its just wonderful! If you do not have a G6 you are missing out!!! Very Satisfied Customer!!!!

No compaints - 2006 Pontiac G6
By mbryan - December 28 - 10:53 pmThis is my first car, and it still drives fine. Ive had one odd repair needed, where a brake caliper had to be rebuilt, but thats because i ride the brakes, and i did it to myself. Car handles well, and can give you pick up when you need it. Very logical car, and would suggest to anyone looking for a well-priced quality car. People seem to be complaining a lot, but Im a teenager and mine works fine for me. It isnt a Lexus, dont expect one when you buy it, but its a more than capable alternative. Make sure you rotate tires on time with this one though, seeing as how its FWD, and your front wheels do the majority of the braking. Its a good car, dont let others tell you different.

Nothing but troubles - 2006 Pontiac G6
By dre256 - December 16 - 1:43 amVery nice car, but had nothing but issues on it from day one. Biggest issue is the 3900, the head gasket just leaks and leaks. Dealership made it worse, GM told me to sue dealership. Had my mechanic repair head, stop leaking for 6 months and still leaks. Wasnt for the engine issue I would love this car for years. One big complaint, I feel the seats are too stiff for long rides and need several seat adjustments. But body is very nice and slick, and this car performs well 0-60 in a tad over 6 seconds. Fuel economy average is 18 city and 23 hwy. Dont know how got a 26 MPG hwy ratting, I never have hit that even with car never going over 2500 RPM from a stop.

GREAT Car - 2006 Pontiac G6
By The MAN - December 14 - 4:06 amGreat ride, very smooth and nice looking. Plenty of power, who needs 400 horsepower any way. I would recommend this car to anyone. Had 2003 Honda Accord and the G6 is much better. Better quality and smoother ride. Handling is great.

I LOVE my G6!!! - 2006 Pontiac G6
By iBCraZ131 - December 9 - 6:53 amSo far I have only had this car for about 2 weeks. Ive driven it for 300 miles. I think it drives very smoothly, except for the braking. When it brakes, it has a pulsing feeling. I love all the features that it has. I have the panoramic sunroof and open it every chance I get. It is actually surprisingly quiet. The sunroof is so large that it almost feels like Im driving a convertible! The monsoon 6 disc stereo system is awesome. It has great sound quality. The trunk is quite roomy as well. The backseat has plenty of legroom. One other downside is when backing up that there are a lot of blindspots because the back of the car is so high. Overall a really great car!

Still Like mine - 2006 Pontiac G6
By Roj - December 3 - 9:13 pm1)Every now and then i would hear the double chime over the stereo and "Power Steering" warning message would flash across the display.I am still not able to locate the compartment to add fluid . 2) Now i am at 100,000, went away for a week, came back and now i have an intermittent problem where my brake pedal sits high at times. When this happens the braking is very sensitive, but shims(Shakes) right and left when braking.I have replace the front pads that seemed to help. Still like my car though ..Drives great ,fuel efficiency is excellent in my opinion. I plan to keep mine for awhile ..
