The Pontiac G6 sees a host of changes for the 2006 model year. Starting things off are two new body styles: a two-door coupe and a hardtop convertible. The coupe will be available at the beginning of the model year, while the convertible hits dealer showrooms early in the 2006 calendar year. There are also new trim levels. A four-cylinder base sedan caters to those shoppers on a tighter budget, while a GTP trim increases the G6's performance threshold via the addition of a new 240-hp V6, stability control and an available six-speed manual transmission.

Good fo rmoney, but - 2006 Pontiac G6
By Petroff - August 31 - 7:23 pmI have it used - 35,000. Right after 5000 miles i got engine light ON. It was error from gas tank sensor. Then i begin to see my stop light is ON all the time. When i got 73,000 miles my transmission messed up - hard shifting. All of this problems GM dealer cannot to fix! They are dont know how!

By Mark - July 28 - 11:36 pmVery average car with poor build quality. GM has really let their products slip over the past few years. Bubbles in the windshield, noisy transmission, lackluster power, poor fuel economy, and unresponsive electronic steering make a could-be good car below average. There are many better options from Dodge, Mazda, and Acura.

Do not buy - 2006 Pontiac G6
By Erin - July 16 - 9:23 amMy bought my G6 based on my husbands friend who loved his. I test drove mine and loved it. Two week later the problems began. In the two years I have had it the whole front end has been replaced (steering rack, steering column, struts, brakes, tires, some kind of suspension links and clear coat just to name a few) and still can not find the problem. I could not take it anymore I finally traded it in for my Jeep. Save your money and the problems.

2006 4DR GTP - 2006 Pontiac G6
By George P - July 5 - 7:20 amI traded in my oldsmobile with 236,000 miles and bought the G6 GTP. I love this car. its sporty, has plenty of power and a very nice interior. I have people stop me on the road to ask about it. The panoramic roof is awesome gives the passengers in the rear seat an open roof. The leather bucket seats are sporty with the double colors. The handling of this car is great with the big 18 inch tires. The monsoon radio is loud and crisp which makes listening a good experience.I wish there was 8 days in a week to drive this sports car!

By Trish - July 4 - 3:06 amI have not driven a better Pontiac in several years. This car has both a classic and sporty look and feel. The blind spots are just alittle difficult to get used to. Overall this is a great value and expect to enjoy the ride for many years

NIce Car - 2006 Pontiac G6
By J Williams - July 2 - 9:53 pmI brought the Pontiac G6 in 9/06 after wanting a Nissan Altima. I found that the G6 was a nice substitute. If I had to choose now, I would choose the G6 over the Altima. The car is very roomy and the design is very nice for an American made car. I love the interior lighting that lights in read and the computer messages.

By Kurt - June 15 - 5:50 amI travel on business a decent amount and have rented G6s quite a bit, so I bought one. It was a used 2006 with 17k miles on it in June 06. Love the interior room, decent acceleration from 3.5 (Non VVT version), great fuel economy (32-34 @75-80mph). Now for the bad stuff- the car has been in the shop 5 times over the last year. To date- rotors warped and turned 3 times. Finally being replaced under warrannty (problem with G6 non GT/GTP models). Rack and pinion went bad- replaced, interior dome light shorted, visor vanity door broke, water coming in pass side with heavy rain (drain tubes?). The more I drive it the more I hate the electronic steering.

By Rock - June 15 - 3:20 amThe first time I ever sat in one it was cool to drive. 0 to 60, not a problem at all. The steering and traction out of this world. It is a whole lot different from my eighteen wheeler, but I love to drive it. Some may say it is a girl car, but it takes a real man to handle the power of this vehicle.

By SnobZilla - June 8 - 1:53 pmI bought this car thinking Id be "OK" with it until I could afford my "Audi". Im not even thinking about the Audi anymore! Not for at least three or four years! It rides unbelievably well. . . its more comfortable than our Jetta, too. Gas mileage is not great in the city but using Shell gas vs. any other increased my gas mileage by 3 miles per gallon and I hit right about 20 whereas our Jetta gets just a few miles more. I have zero complaints! The GTP package has an unbelievable sound system and before this car I dont think I ever pictured myself cruisin around on 18s! Haha! I love it! (And yes, Ive had nice cars so this is not a case of "first new car" giddies!) Get one!

"Simply awesome" - 2006 Pontiac G6
By Rob - May 29 - 6:43 pmI must say this car is "AWESOME" I traded my 2007 Toyota Camry for an American car?? What a great decision I am very happy with this vehicle. My 2007 Toyota they say is a great car I disagree I nothing but problems with my Toyota since the second day I owed it so who really says that Japan makes a better vehicle??? Not me!!!!! I think GM is and has come a long way and I am proud to own American once again!!!! GREAT JOB GM, I promise I wont ever leave you again!!!!!
