This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2007 Pontiac G6, there are substantial under-the-skin changes. The GTP version, which is now offered as a coupe or sedan only, is powerful this year, thanks to a new, all-aluminum 3.6-liter V6 with variable valve timing. The engine produces 252 horsepower and is matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission. The engine in last year's GTP, a 3.9-liter V6, is now an upgrade option for the GT trim. Pontiac has also increased the output for the GT's standard 3.5-liter V6 by 23 hp this year (16 hp for convertible models). Other G6 changes for 2007 include expanded availability of side curtain airbags, hydraulic power steering for GT models (versus the former numb-feeling electric power setup) and a couple of new sport- and luxury-themed packages.

Pros:
  • Spacious rear seat, peppy yet fuel-efficient V6 engines, sporty suspension tuning, retractable hardtop in convertible model, available panoramic sunroof in sedan.
Cons:
  • Some low-grade interior plastics, numb electric steering in base sedan, panoramic sunroof eats up rear-seat headroom.

  • Love it so far - 2007 Pontiac G6

My G6 is less than a month old with only 500 miles, but I love it so far. Its truly a great value. I think it looks and drives great. Im impressed with the driver information center. Im a little disappointed in the center console. Its roomy, but doesnt have a compartment for coins (minor flaw). Also, I was surprised that the car does not have ABS brakes, although it does have 4 wheel disc brakes. I also assumed that the radio would have the song information (I forget what its called but our 2001 Sunfire radio has it). I wish it had remote keyless entry, but this is something that I will add later and I think is reasonably priced. Im sure adding these would increase price.

  • Nice Surprise - 2007 Pontiac G6

I was not expecting a car like this to handle the way it did. Very tight and nimble. Nor did I expect to get the power from a 4 cylinder, which I bought for the city driving mileage. The engine and transmission mesh very well. Turning is true and direct. I like the variable turning too, finger tip easy at rest and appropriate resistance on the fly. We love everything about this car. We did not think we would get such a smart interior. Nothing phony. What trim there is looks smart. We chose the fun and sun package and the rear spoiler with the mud guards in metalic silver. Looks real sharp and sporty. Got a good deal too.

horrible car, my gf had one when she moved in with me and even before she moved in it was constantly in the shop for engine problems, wierd noises, no ac, no heat, stalling, power loss, i bought my gf a jeep for her bday and now the worthless piece of GM sits in our driveway, were trying to sell it, otherwise we let family use it when they come stay with us, she bought the car for 8000 we put 12000 into it.

  • The ultimate vehicle - 2007 Pontiac G6

The G6 handles nice and smooth, it is a very good car for the price. the interior is user friendly, the stereo is loud and clear. it does not scratch the cds when used. The fuel economy is very good i went to philadelphia with a stop off at atlantic city which is about 300 miles approximately one one tank of gas with some to spear, also one half a tank back to brooklyn. i recommend this car to anyone, it is much better than my last 3 cars put together. the insurance rate for the vehicle is alot cheaper then some other vehicles as well. it handles solid in the snow, it does not slid even without stability and traction control. go for a test drive you will not be disappointed.

  • Always came back - 2007 Pontiac G6
    By -

Id been looking at cars for almost a year and every time it always came back to the G6 Convertible. Before this car came out I never would have thought to purchase a GM vehicle. This car is a blast to drive. Not a techy car by any means. No NAV, Bluetooth, A/V jack etc. but when its sunny, and the top goes down who cares!

  • Look but dont buy! This car is horrible - 2007 Pontiac G6

I have had nothing but problems with this car since 2000 miles. Constant vibration and bounce that dealer cant fix. Got GM involved but nothing resolved. Recently had the rotors resurfaced, again, oil level sensor broke, seat weld broke and more rattles. 20,000 miles later and the vibration still there. Finally called a lawyer. Im just glad I leased! No wonder the big 3 are failing, poor quality and lack of interest in consumers!

  • G6 Never Again! - 2007 Pontiac G6

This is the worst car I have ever owned. The Sun visors fall out if you try and move them to the side windows, the starter re-engages on its own after start up, the throttle sticks open from time to time, the wind deflector on the moon roof broke about two weeks after purchase.

  • Im surprised....so was the wife! - 2007 Pontiac G6

This is a great car, Im impressed and surprised. Great riding, strong V6, nice clean appearance, and very roomy. Wide wheel base makes this thing turn like a boat. Console and shifter area kinda awkward. Too close together. Not enough storage. Small trunk opening. Sharp looking, I guess the people that stole my factory wheels thought so too. (Get wheel locks.) My wife was avid about not getting this (or Pontiac in general), had to give her her own set of keys.

  • WOW!!! - 2007 Pontiac G6

I absolutely love this car. It is amazing, fun to drive, and a great head turner. Anybody that doubts that GM can build a great car has rocks in their head. The most heated discussion in our house each morning is who gets to drive it.
