  • Terrible vehicle not reliable at all - 2007 Oldsmobile Silhouette

This vehicle stays broke more than anything else especially dealing with the motor of overheating, this is a terrible vehicle to have. Save money and time and less headaches. Motor has a defect, over heating the vehicles or a silhouette, Montana and a Vengeance they have all the same motor and over heating problems highly recommended do not buy unless you plan on staying on the side of the road broke down.

I have over the past 10 years poured a lot of money into this van . While I like the leather seats and all the options being a premiere edition the intake and head gaskets went twice a transmission rebuild ones at 85000 miles heated seats repaired twice broke again had way to many over heating problems just to many things to list .If you like big repair bills by a GM mini van. The van spent more time being repaired than me driving it never get me again GM.

  • Not Worth It - 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette

My Oldsmobile Silhouette had constant electrical problems. GM would not stand behind its defective intake manifold gasket problem despite a service memo noting the design issue. Is is any wonder Olds went down and GM sales are poor.

  • Worst vehicle Ive ever owned. - 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette

I hate this van! The seat heaters quit working, can live w/that, the speakers SUCK. Power door on the passenger side not only doesnt work but will not unlock w/the electronic locks or manually so it cant be opened at all. Ive replaced Battery, thermostat, heater/AC blower motor, the resistor(that melted), water pump, belt, Intake Manifold gaskets(top &bottom), heater hose. The entire engine cooling system & heater/AC system cannot handle the pressure &original parts corrode quickly! Its fuel injected but have to give it gas to start it. And now it needs a new Harmonic Balancer-because they couldnt just bolt on the pulley for the belt, they used something rubber that corrodes too!

  • Very Unreliable! - 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette

We had continuous repairs that had to be done. Air compressor leaked causing no airconditioner-$3k for repairs. Rear lights always went out having to replace the fuses constantly. Front lights did not seal well even after replacing the covers so we had to replace headlights monthly alot. Sliding doors opened on their own even with vehicle turned off. Engine blew at 90k miles-$6k. Roters and wheel barrings replaced 3 times. Traction system repaired, Cd player jams when changing Cds, constant electronic malfunctions. In an accident the van at 40mpg rolled when it hit the ditch, both sliding doors popped open during roll and all the windows busted out- extremely unsafe. Very unreliable vehicle!

  • This car rots! - 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Bought the car. Was thrilled. Two weeks later the transmission failed - got replaced - then the alignment was never right - replaced tires every year; breaks too - tranny replaced three more times - two engines - alternator gone twice - electrical failed in year 4 - rail for driver sliding door broke year 5 - leather is so thin on seats, metal seat cushion supports showing year 7. With some cars you can say you got two cars for the price of one theyre so good. With this stinking car we had to pay for two cars (repairs) but only got to take one - broken one - home. Right now its in Baltimore MD - broken down - the trany went again - we live in N. Carolina. Were not fixing it again!

I was against the purchase of this vehicle from the beginning as I was suspect of GMs ability to provide a quality product. My suspicions were accurate. This week I forked out $1,550 for a new head gasket. Two years ago, it needed an intake manifold gasket for $800. VHS system is broken, trim and molding parts falling off van. A/C will not work, keyless entry broken, rear wheel cylinder needed replacement, TCM sensor broken, its just endless. GM should be embarrassed for the lack of build quality in this vehicle. I am still waiting for the recall notices. As for my Honda and Nissan purchases prior to buying this van, I never had any of these problems.

With 2 young children, thought we HAD to have a minivan. Shouldnt have been this one. Heated seats gave up within first 3 months. Fan control resistor at 5 months. A/C condenser cracked at 70K miles. Intake gasket started leaking at 80K. Poor build quality, and the noisiest highway vehicle Ive driven since my 76 K5 Blazer.
