Olds but not forgotten - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By hr - July 10 - 5:36 pmThis is a great all around car. It is midsize and not too big or too small. It has split folding rear seats to haul bigger objects. It gets 22 miles per gallon of reg. fuel.

Old Used Car, still runs like new - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By kjreinha - July 8 - 4:07 pmOK, So I found one that really was owned by an 80+yr old couple. Our just bought, 62k miles Intrigue, really shocked me with its smooth performance, handling, acceleration and ride. I cleaned some carbon off the BTRFLY valve in the throttle body because the pedal was a little sticky and dropped in a new PCV valve ($3) and this car runs again like it is brand new. Dealer had all the records and showed only typical maintenance, OTW all original. I am not partial to any brand, and this was used, but I have been very impressed with a 14+yr old car running this well and looking this good. My highschool kids feel pretty lucky to have such a nice car to drive.

Top Notch Sedan - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Intrigue Owner - July 5 - 2:50 amGOOD: Excellent ride and handling; out performs the competition (3.8L V6); sleek and luxurious exterior styling; reliability- the car has only been in the shop to replace the ignition. BAD: Fuel economy (havent broken 18 MPG since Ive owned it); ergonomics, I have to reach to fiddle with the HVAC and radio (Im 62"); Build quality isnt up to the standards of the Asian brands, weatherstripping on below the driver window is peeling, trim on the top of the front pass. Door wont stay in place; my car has a slight vibration at high speeds (may just need to be balanced) and when braking (probably needs new pads). But overall, an excellent car.

Excellent - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Emily B. - June 29 - 12:30 pmBought it salvaged, and surprisingly the only problem so far is a malfunctioning window. Car has excellent MPG--I once clocked it at 34 hwy--and coasts around town like a dream. Heater can be a little weird; otherwise loaded with good functional features. Accelerates on a dime, quiet, fast.

Not sure why GM is ending Olds - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By JP4444 - May 10 - 10:00 amI have a little over 40,000 miles now and from an engine standpoint the car runs great. Little problems from that standpoint. The goodies have broken more than once such as the A/C Sensor for automatic climate control and a sensor for the Traction system. Windows stop working once in a while... typical GM problem w/4 door cars. Had his on my LeSabre as well. Car handles well, doesnt have as much get up and go as it did at 20,000 miles. Overall a great purchase for the bucks.

Excellent Olds! - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By K. Gilligan - May 9 - 1:36 amI bought a loaded up base model in a dealer end of year clearance. It is the best car Ive ever had (and I usually buy Mazda, Honda or Toyota). It has the best engine ever. Its smooth, powerful, quiet and yet gets great gas mileage. This cars understated styling still gets curious onlookers. Its beefy Goodyear tires, ABS, a smooth transmission are all excellent. My only gripe is the standard GM penchant for ill fitting dashboard plastics. I have had no squeaks, rattles, or maintenance issues with my Intrigue. It has been completely reliable and has plenty of power. The suspension eats up bumps. The handling is tight, especially for a deceptively large sedan. This car easily outperforms every other car in its size/class for much less money. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I love this car - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Papa Billnye - April 30 - 10:26 pmThis car has been the best one I have ever owned out of 6 in my life of 22 years. I have had some small issues with it like a secondary air pump go out and a fast wearing set of rear brakes but since I have put 4 new tires on the car it rides like a Cadillac but better because it costs a lot less then a Caddy.

Great Business Car - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By jknapow - April 27 - 2:00 amOverall a great car. Bought new in Nov. 1998, only work other than maintenance was the antilock brake controller ($1000.00 ding) and an Oxygen sensor (under warranty). Took car on a 11,000 mile road trip across the USA. Very comfortable and reliable. Only complaint is the driver side visor need an extension to block the sun. Im 63" tall, and car has plenty of room. I drive as a salesman everyday, no complaints. 92,000 + miles and still going strong. Regards.

Intrigue features high highs & low lows - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Tryan - April 22 - 2:00 amIts styling is the first thing that grabs your attention. It is, simply put, stunning. Unlike the Accord and Camry that you see everywhere, the Intrigue is more rare and you never get sick of seeing them. However, also unlike the Accord and Camry, is the Intrigues build quality. It is barely acceptable. Its paint job is horrendous, the gaps in the dash fits are huge, and shakes and rattles are already obvious. For such a large car, the rear seat space is tight. The car has plenty of ergonomic quirks (like useless cup holders) and finding the perfect temperature is a waste of time - you either get very hot, or very cold. The intermediate does not exist.
