The Olds-motrigue! - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Woodbed - August 30 - 1:36 pmWell, this is the fifth year Ive been driving this car and Ive put 60,000mi on the V6-3800. Ive bought it used with 32,000mi and Ive had one major problem with the steering column when I first bought it (under warranty replacement) Since then only regular maintenance, Ive changed the battery, 3 changes of brakes, one ventilation motor(squeaking), bought one set of winter tires and Im still running on the same Goodyear LS that came new with it. Im 33yr, 64"-200pd and this was one of the few cars that I was comfortable in for my budget. I dont regret it at all. This is my 2nd 3800 and they are reliable/strong motors but they do drink oil. Good fuel economy if you know how to drive it

GM is Intriguing - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By BenDog - August 28 - 2:00 amI bought the car used, it was a rental. It seemed fine at the time (still some warranty left - thank goodness!). A week after purchase a rear power window quit. After a couple months of driving we noticed that on rainy cool nights the inside of the winshield would fog up horribly and the defogger would not clear it very quickly. Fearing a leaking heater core, I took it in but was told it was the control head. Still has the problem to some extent. Other than that it drives nicely and weve had no other problems.

Money Pit - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By issingle - August 28 - 2:00 amFirst 1 1/2 years were fine, then poured money into it. Brakes/rotors replaced at 40,000. Battery/alternator replaced. Front wheelbearings-each costing $270. Window motor went 3 days before Christmas last year-cost almost $500. Windshield wipers fixed twice in a week-cost about $90 in total. Had many new cars-this one is the worst ever owned.Light bulbs burn out fast. Rear tail light cost $16- actual cost of bulb $.70. Console lights cost $150 to replace. Gas tank electronic opener had problem from day one. Would cost $150 to fix. Ill use my credit card to open it! Cant wait to get rid of this car. Glad its out of production.

Love this car - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By HollySw3 - August 21 - 9:53 pmI am married with 3 kids. I used to drive a Chevy Blazer and suprisingly enough the back seat in the intrigue is wider than the Blazers back seat. The car runs great and is very comfortable. I just got it but bought it used and to this day I have had no problems with it. It is a sharp car!

Waste of Money - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By 5yearowner - August 3 - 12:58 amI purchased my Intrigue in April of 2007 and it was the biggest mistake for me. Yes i was impressed because it had a different engine & a rebuilt tranny, but 8mths later the axle shaft broke inside the tranny and had to repair that for 2500k. Not long after i had to repair the alternator, the computer system, rack & pinion & bushels, crank shaft sensor, radiator, fuel filter. The head light wiring had a short, so i had to replace that every six months. I also had to replace the ignition switch and a year later the same problem. It would not start for 15 minutes then it would. Finally it needed $2500 of repair. Tie rods, hubs, motor mount. After $5,000 into the car already i said no way.

Can never go wrong with the 3800! - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By mboily - July 18 - 2:00 am6 Years and 70,000miles since I bought this 38,000miles used car. First off, I was a young sales rep when I got the car back then and the reason was because it was the only car Ive tried under $12K that I felt very comfortable in. Im 64" and no other car offer this type on leg and head room. I also wanted to another 3800 motor. I didnt have to any troubles with the car, the sterring colomn was the biggest issue I had when I got it at 40Kmiles, it was replace under warranty since then They have made a call back on that issue. Ive just changed the rear suspension abd battery. I also had to change one interior fan motor ar 80Kmiles. I had 3 sets of brakes an rotors in total.
