Not Perfect, But Good Enough - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Jess K - April 24 - 1:06 pmWe purchased this car used from another owner at just under 100,000 miles. In terms of comfort and performance, the car was solid. Definitely a better experience than I expected. The design is great, but the car left something to be desired in terms of quality. I didnt end up spending a ton on major repairs, but I regularly found myself dishing out cash for minor issues like broken turn signal and power windows - both known issues with the Intrigue. Also, the cars fuel economy seemed to decline with time. In the end, I lost the car at only 140,000 mi to an intake and head gasket leak that was not caught in time to save the engine - yet another known problem with Intrigues.

What a Piece of Junk! - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Mike Olesky - April 12 - 2:00 amMy Intrigue has a leak from oil its pan. The dealer replaced gasket, and it still leaks. They refused to redo the repair. The inlet manifold failed, there was a coolant leak. I guess that this is a common problem for GM. It also failed on my S10. Thanks GM for testing plastic inlets on the public. attle from rear. Dealer couldnt find Had to replace valve cover gaskets. ABS valve body failed at 50000 miles. Steering shaft problem. Dealer fixed. Rack & pinion leaked. dealer fixed Stereo failng. dealer said "common problem" Overall noisy ride, clunks and rattles. Sway bar broke, for no good reason, at 60000 miles. Didnt hit a pothole or jump a curb. This is my wifes car and I took good care of it. Car was never abused. Over all just a piece of junk.

Still Satisfied - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By wigz - March 30 - 2:03 pmNearly 72 months now as original owner. The Intrigue GL still delivers on all expectations. The intermediate steering shaft needs lubrication for the first time but its not a critical maintenance issue. Most GM W-Body cars need that $100 dealer service only once in 100,000 miles. Other than that no unscheduled services required. 90 percent of my driving is in the city and the car averages 19 miles-per-gallon. All-in-all its been a pretty darn nice car!

A Great Olds - Sorry to see them go. - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By IntrigueOwner559 - March 30 - 10:00 amBought slightly used from a GM dealer for thousands less than a similar age and equipped Accord or Camry, and what a huge improvement of features over either of those cars. This car has been a great choice. Only minor repairs (radio button) and scheduled maintenance. This is a great value for all you get: Auto dual zone heater, Auto Headlamps, Radio Antenna in rear window. All the great options. Mine is a GLS, top of the line, so may have options others donÂ’t, but I love the ride and the power. Also gets over 30mpg on the highway on a long flat trip with cruise set at 75.

Great car! What was GM thinking??? - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By R.Hach - February 25 - 5:36 amMy first Olds Intrigue was totaled when another driver ran a stop light at 70 MPH! Later when I went back to the salvage yard to get my personal belongings, the Police were there and told me that the car durability saved my life, so I bought my second Olds Intrigue in 10/2007 with 27k on it. I do outside sales on the road, I now have 90k on it. Other than basic repairs (tires, battery) it has been problem free. Comfortable for long trips, rides smooth, and the A/C blows colder and cools faster than my wifes 2006 Chevy Impala! Why did GM kill Olds? My sister just bought herself one with low miles. She used to laugh at my Olds, now she is glad she got hers. People cant believe its 7 yrs old!

What a pile of garbage - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By grebmohr - February 22 - 2:43 pmI thought this was a neat looking car. Still is. But it has terrible quality and reliability. Everything started breaking starting at 75,000 miles-now has 90,000. Just like the old garbage of the 60s and 70s planned obsolescence seems to have been the order of the day at Oldsmo-Buick engineering. The car has a rental car feel and ride when it does run. Put your money on a Honda or Nissan you wont be as sorry about it as I am.

I love it! - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By gaymarty - January 27 - 10:00 am18000 miles and no problems at all. I have only been back to the dealer when the "change oil" light on the 3.5L, 215HP, "short star" engine lights. This car is a keeper.
