Great acceleration. Its so quiet that I forget if its even on when Im parked. But, as someone has said before me, the ABS, power steering and shock system all have problems. A lot of knocking around and a very stiff drive. I took mine in to get it inspected, and it passed with flying colors, but I still have problems with the suspension and a horrible wobbling with the ABS. Also, the power steering somehow affects the drivability and acceleration around corners-in a bad way.

my car gives that luxury feel for less , i know that my car is better than most of its competitors such as the Accord V6, Camry V6 , taurus , xlg300 , but its equal to the grand prix in speed , impala in luxury , and it may not be all up there i feel some heat between the maxima

The Oldsmobile Intrigue is a very good performer all around. It provides a good combination of performance and fuel economy. It has a few minor defects, mostly related to the Bose stereo system. Although it played well, the volume knob broke off and after 4 1/2 years of service the CD player broke.

I bought it when car had 61k, and these are the problems that i had. air conditioning stoped working...dealer found leaks.so i dont have a/c now. Plastic coolant reservour cracked. Replaced for $12. Bass/treble knob broke , then balance/fade knob gave up too.Since i bought a car i can feel some noise and vibration when turning and braking at the same time. Not fixed yet. Power steering is very loud. Makes the car vibrate when turning wheels while standing. Right rear power window broke..Replaced with jankyard part for $75. Thats what i had so far...Not that bad or good. Dont think its a great car , and dont think its a bad car...Its just a car.

Fun to drive, comfortable sedan. I bought the car new, and loaded, for a steal. There were a few minor quality issues - water pump had to be replaced (at normal service visit), and a nut on one of the wipers had to be retightened (10 minutes at another Olds dealer). Both of these were fixed under warranty, and neither left me stuck. I got a lot of car for the money, and put a lot of worry free miles on it. I rated a lot of 8s, and thats because there are such things as Lexus, Infiniti, etc., but compared to the price range the Intrigue competed in (Accords, Camrys, etc), the Intrigue was a great car and a great value

  • Great Car - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I drive a lot. Ive had this car for a little over a year and have already put almost 30,000 miles on it. Its taken me on numerous trips, one from Michigan to Florida, without a problem and use it to commute 20 miles back and forth to work and school everyday. I love the car. However, its been having issues with the passive security system and sometimes wont let me start the car. Other than that it has been a great car.

I have owned three Cutlasses (68, 71 and 80), an Alero, an Aurora and a LSS 88 and this has been my favorite Olds. Right now I have 175K on the original motor and tranny and can still pull 100+ mph speeds on closed track. Reliability has been excellent. Repairs have all been within reasonable parameters for a car of its age and mileage. Shes starting to show her age cosmetically, but still rides like a dream and runs like a rocket. Love the control placement, cabin ergonomics and handling.

We bought my car with 67000 miles and weve only had a couple minor problems that would occurr with normal wear and tear like a new accesory belt ect. Its fun to drive and still really practical. Drives like a tank in the snow. 4 inches plus havnt stopped me a bit.

Bought the car used with 19,000 miles in Oct 03. It has over 100,000 miles on it now and runs like a top. Haver never had to get anything replaced. I change the oil frequently, myself. On my second set of tires; actually, will be changing them this week to my third set. I changed the trans fluid and plugs at just over 90k. Doesnt burn oil, 24 mpg city (here in Atlanta - traffic nightmare) 28 highway. Good power, fun to drive. Cant say enough about it. Wish they were still making them! Oh, my AC (not as cold as it used to be) is starting to act up though.
