  • Kinda love it, kinda hate it - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I bought this car cause the dealership I worked at gave me a good deal. $4200 at 62,000 miles, traded in by an old guy who never drove it. Was skeptical since its GM and I prefer Japanese cars. So far everything has been fine though! The body dents really easily though, especially the fenders. Had to replace all power window motors two weeks after I bought it. Serpentine belt snapped at 70k. Interior has held up! Nice leather, heater and a/c work, plenty of power! A lot more reliable than I had expected.

It is so depressing to know that you cannot replace this car with a newer model. I have been researching to purchase a new car, with lots of disappointments.

  • Great Car - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I have owned my intrigue for six years and it still looks and drives great. I love this car. It may be nine years old but I think it still is one of the best looking cars on the road. Problems include drivers side window cable became inoperable, decided not to spend $500 to have it repaired. Had the steering column greased, replaced fuel regulator and an oxygen sensor. The interior is well designed and the seats are very comfortable. Great pickup and it still turns heads. I have seen dealers in my area selling intrigues that have 200,000 miles on them. The engine speaks for itself. My only complaint is that GM decided to discontinue the Olds.

  • Very Disappointed - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I bought this just just before Halloween last year - not quite one year - with 101,000 miles. I had no issues with the car. Most were with the dealership for not taking care of regular maintenance before I bought it. I had actually enjoyed the power it had! And then my transmission failed on me. Im a single mother and the sole reason I bought this car was because I thought it was reliable. Apparently I should have researched more because its a well known problem on other boards. Here I am stuck with a $1700+ fix on top of the loan I already have. Thanks a lot, Oldsmobile! Research the car - I wouldnt trust the transmission, and Im sure you dont want the expensive fix.

I bought my Oldsmobile Intrigue new and have been delighted ever since. I have not had to make any repairs to it outside of normal wear and tear. It has outstanding handling and good braking. It gets good gas mileage. Unfortunately, the seats can get a little uncomfortable over long trips. Also, I have experienced some annoying trim problems. Still, I was sorry to see the Oldsmobile brand eliminated.

  • I love my Olds! - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I have liked Intrigues ever since I heard about them. I rode in one a few years ago and knew that I would get one as my first car. Even though Im only 18, I think this is one of the best cars out there. Its fast, yet relaxing when cruising, comfortable (heated seats!!), its got a good Bose sound system, and it handles well. Thus far, its been good in the reliability area. I got it with 43,000 miles on it; now I have 59,000 miles.

  • What a car - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I have owned 2 Accords and 2 Camry. All four were purchased new. My intrigue was purchased new. It has been the best by far. End of story. I have replaced the battery, tires(twice) and breaks(twice- I break WAY late) and done all regular maintenance.

  • Good Vehicle - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

I drove this car from Jacksonville, FL to Portland, OR. It was comfortable, the only problem I had with the vehicle was that the coolant resivour had cracked in Texas. I replaced it and we went on our way and made it to Oregon with no problems at all. This vehicle overall, I would probably rate it a high 8 or mid 9.

  • I love this car! - 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue

For over a few years, Ive been wanting to have my own Intrigue and I was finally fortunate enough to get one for my birthday. (Thankfully I got my license). I love this car. It has a lot of power, is very comfortable, and has been very reliable for me. The sound system is amazing, and its not even the optional bose system. Only expected maintainance for the age and mileage.

  • 113K and still going strong - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue
    By -

I bought the Intrigue used in Aug 1999 with 26,000 miles. It now has a few miles shy of 113,000 miles in March 2003. Aside from a freak occurrence, belt tensioner seizure at around 90k miles, it has been perfect. It is confident in rain and snow, and of course it handles superbly on a sunny day - much better than the Grand Prix GTP, which I have test driven prior to deciding on the Intrigue. Its such a pleasure to drive, I often take the long way home. Occasional passengers often mistake my Intrigue for a European or Japanese import and are surpised when I tell them its an Oldsmobile.
