The Best Car I Have Ever Owned - 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Steve R. - October 4 - 10:46 pmMy wife and I leased a 1999 GL and when GM announced the phase out of the Intrigue in 2002 with the end of Olds, we had to buy one while we still could. We got the GLS fully loaded for about $25,000. After 8 years and closing in on 200,000 miles, (not a typo), it is the best car I have ever owned, hands down. Impressive pick up for a car of that size. The 3.5L V6 with regular maintenance is as durable as they come, and still purrs like a kitten. The optional "Precision Control System" gives the car great handling, especially around curves at higher speeds, and the ride comfort is very good for a sportier car. Still getting 24/28 mpg. A great car. Too bad GM couldnt sell more of them.

The Oldsmotrigue - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Mike - September 28 - 9:30 amWell, its official now, my car is 10 years Olds!! It has 128000miles on the odometer and the way it feels, it could take another 100000. I have the 3.8 version. I had a buick T-Type before with the same motor and I sold it with 145000miles on it. Since I have it Ive had the regular maintenance and parts replace from wear and tear, nothing more. Since im young (early 30s) my generation is too familiar with keeping a vehicule or buying American for that matter, I always under pressure to change it for an Europeen model! But since this one is paid for and is running in good order I will keep it and perhaps get a BRAND NEW SPORTS CAR!! (pronouce like Bob Barker would) THE 2010 CHEVY CAMARO!

Surprising Performance for a GM Sedan - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By GregC - August 12 - 11:56 pmIve had this car for four years. I purchased it used at 30,000 miles and now it has 70,000 miles. It has had no problems thus far. It has great pick-up, with stable handling thanks to its wide tires.

Dependable Car - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By cliftsnew - July 4 - 12:33 amI purchased this vehicle July 2004, and it has been a great vehicle. I purchased the vehicle with 73,000 miles on it, and it now has over 170,000 miles on it. The only problems I have had were with the brakes, because of exposure to the elements. Besides this I have had no problems. I use Mobile 1 synthetic oil, so tried to maintain it. Word of advice when you need to replace oxygen sensor do so immediately otherwise you may have to pay in the long run. I did not change mine for almost a year and it made other problems arise, but not till now, so I think this has been a great vehicle. If you find one used purchase it as soon as possible.

I miss the 3.5 - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By OldsKidd - June 27 - 9:23 pmMy parents bought their 99 Intrige GLS with 27,000 miles in 2001. Theyve driven it to Mexico once, and to Michigan countless times. Its proven to be as reliable as their Toyota Corolla. It now has 100,000 miles and it still runs like the day they bought it. Regular maintenance is all that has been needed. The seats are comfy and the dual zone climate control is great as my dad is always cold and mom is the opposite. Theyre thinking of getting another car, but why? If anything theyd get a used Aurora with the same bulletproof Northstar based 3.5L V6. GM made a big mistake dropping Oldsmobile and the 3.5L and 4.0L engines. They shouldve kept the lineup, or at least put the engines in Buick.

Best Deal In Town - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By GmanNYC - June 25 - 10:00 amWhy Did GM stop Producing this car? My previous cars were an 88 accord, 88 cutlas, 92 Legend and a 97 malibu, and my 99 intrique has the best features of all of them. The design with the chrome rims and spoiler give an attractive look. the leather was comparable to my old legend. The Bose System was similar to the after market system in my accord. Most important it was the size i needed consider im 6 ft 230lbs and play hockey. I wanted something bigger than my malibu but with all the toys. This car takes a 45 mile comute with no problem and 5 of us fit decently going to a football game with tailgating stuff in the trunk. Car is fun to drive, priced perfect under 9 grand used. mpg is decent

Like a Vette - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By OwnedEmAll - June 2 - 9:43 pmIve owned cars for 55 years and none has given me more all around pleasure than this car. On twisty two-lanes or the interstate it has been great. It handles much the same as my 66 Vette coupe, without the 350 hp of course, and the V6 3.8 liter engine is strong, smooth and bulletproof. Maybe the 3.5 could be better, but I dont care.

Great Engine! Lousy suspension! - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Julio - May 28 - 10:00 amBlew out two rack and pinions in first 24k miles. Numerous control arms. Front axle is going. Front wheel bearing shot. At least 3 computer sensors. Also, poor fit and finish. I realize that 25k miles per year is excessive. However, there is no excuse for this frequency of repair. I tried to "lemon law" the car but was over the miles allowed for reporting a claim Thank goodness I work across the street from the dealership because I am there about once a month on average. The funny thing is that I was in the car business and am not very particular about my cars. However, I know how they should run.

Good Car Overall - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
By Tiffany - May 27 - 2:20 amOriginally bought the car with 36K on it and now at 170K I cant really complain. I havent had anything major wrong with it, just normal maintenance fixes so far. The one continuous problem that I am having is that the light in the front blinkers keeps going out. I just quit having it fixed.
