  terible experiance in general - 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

  now i havehad this car for almost a year and the tranny went the rear window motor went the ac compressor the brakes. the steering rack the exaust fell down. this car in general just dosnt stack up to the reviews writin about it. i had a 1989 toyota camry before this car and i am so sorry i ever sold it because it was the best car i ever owned i drove it for 55000 trouble free miles the worst i had to do to it was buy 4 new tires and change the oil every 3000 miles....

  Good Car, Bad Quality - 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue

  Would have been an excellent car if reliability and build quality were better. I had it for 3 years and only put 24,000 miles on it. Here is what had to be replaced: rack and pinion steering, cv-joints, thermostat, horn, cd player, and alternator. Not normal for a 24,000 mile car. I also had probems with an erratic check engine light. The car was comfortable and rode well, and the performance was good. Performance would have been excellent if it had a 5 speed auto or 6 speed manual. Traction was also very poor in the snow. Interior was of modern Japanese design, but the plastics quality was 1970s American. I was going to keep the car after the lease was turned it in after all the trouble.

  Ol Reliable - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

  I bought my Oldsmobile Intrigue used with 40,000 miles on it, It now has 120,000 miles, and still drives like new. The only major work that I had done on it was the replacement of the alternator at 100,000 miles. It has terrific acceleration, good handling, and good mileage for a full size car. Its problems include an engine that needs about 1.5 quarts of oil between changes (apparently according to GM this is normal for this engine), a fuel door that seldom opens by itself, and seats with little lumbar or side support.

  I put on a lot of miles each year and the Intrigue is smooth driving, comfortable and a GREAT sedan. Wonderful for the price.

  I received my Intrigue December of 2011 for a X-mas present. So far it has made it 138,410 miles, so all of you who think that high mileage is bad, its not it just depends on who is taking care of it. No problems except having to restore front lenses, and covering up a few dings. This car is fun and smooth, almost ;like riding on a cloud. So for all who are looking for a good starter car I reccomend this beautiful car.

  My experience with this car was, is, a bad one. I personally would not recommend anyone to buy this specific vehicle. I am always going in to fix something under warranty, and then it still doesnt work, or brakes soon after.

  Power steering went out but was replaced immediately. They then forgot to connect the coolant hose but this was discovered no more than 2 miles down the road and they reconnected it and topped it off. Love the style, room, and dual a/c. The engine is one of the best I have driven as far as power, but needs help in the gas milage. Feels fairly good in the corners.

  Everything held together pretty well until 60,000 miles then oil leaks started, strut supports went out, alternator was replaced, idler pulley came apart, now I hear theres a forthcoming recall for the steering box. Also along the way a couple of electric window motors failed. Ive driven Japanese autos to well over 100,000 miles without any of this foolishness happening. Had considered an Impala until stuff started breaking, but since its a GM drivetrain clone of this car I might just pass and check out Honda Accords, Toyota Camrys, and Mazda 6s.

  Great car - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

  This is, overall, one of the finest cars I have owned (and Ive driven many Hondas!). It is a bunch of fun to drive. When ice and snow put others in the ditch, the traction control, anti-lock brakes, and superb handling kept me on the road. I was going to give this car to my daughter three years from now when she is old enough to drive, but I think shell have to find something else. This ones a keeper.

  Five Years and Still Going Strong! - 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

  I bought this car about 5 years ago with 82,000 miles on it and I am still in love with it. I have only had one problem which was the drivers window motor and track broke. Probably because I eat so much fast food and use it way more that average. It is very spacious and comfortable except on long road trips the seats become bricks. It now has 142,000 miles on it and I have had to replace some of the suspension because of normal wear and tear. The engine and transmission have been perfect despite claims at the dealership that the tranny has a bad reputation just to sell me a warranty which I refused. It picks up speed very quickly and has 215 HP whith 3.5L which is much better than the 3.8L!
