Short of being perfect - 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada
By Mike - February 6 - 5:46 pmWe have enjoyed our Bravada excepted for a recurring transmission slippage that gives you the sensation to go over a bumpy road as the vehicle starts to accelerate. There is also a loud metallic noise that I have not been able to find the origin. It sounds like a loose hatch door, or loose braking caliper or an heavy piece of metal rattling when on bumpy road.

Little Trouble Up Front - 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada
By AK-KY - January 9 - 7:33 pmI have had a little trouble with the Bravada, but overall its been a nice ride and has taken me from Kentucky to Alaska and back. I had to replace the ball joints and both front wheel bearings about 5,000 miles ago and now am having the same problems that led me to replace them in the first place (a bumping sort of motion when cutting the wheels and backing up). I read a lot about the GMC Jimmy (nearly the same build) having this problem regularly as well. The engine runs strong, has lots of torque, and its gas mileage is good as far as an SUV goes. It does great on the snow and ice. The heat seems to always be on, that is just annoying though. I guess Olds was figuring anyone in this car would be using the AC.

The Bravada Experience - 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada
By bravada - December 17 - 5:13 pmI purchased my Bravada about 15 months ago and overall it has been a wonderful experience driving it. I never liked SUVs before, now Im hooked. The I still like my cars, I believe I will always have a SUV to sit beside it. Its handling is pretty much natural and the style puts you right with the other big time wheelers at a very reasonable price and equal style, always meeting the look of many $40,000 - $50,000 SUV you see riding around. I brought mine for $6,000 and it sat with the most expensive SUVs in the city. It raved with compliments from all who seen and expeienced it.

I got lucky ! - 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada
By TommyBoy - December 16 - 10:53 pmI purchased this from a private owner that bought a Saturn Vue. I drove from Ohio to AZ without issues but replaced the radiator and water pump after my arrival. Replaced brake rotors and calibers prior to departure. It drove through the snow without any problems so SmartTrak is very cool. One rust spot around the gas tank refill just starting to bubble. I have no other issues with this vehicle and plan on driving it into the ground. I owned a 93 Olds Delta 88 LSS before this and put 112K miles on it. I have always owned GM. Theres currently 84K on the Bravada.

Nice SUV - 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada
By Lloyd - November 3 - 3:16 amHave owned my Bravada for six months. I bought it with 64,000 miles on it. The only probems are the memory for the mirrors doesnt work, and the bottom passenger seat heater is not working. I paid only $12,900 for it and it has every option. I have been getting about 17 mpg.

I Love my Bravada - 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada
By Tom Pulmano - September 19 - 3:40 pmI bought my Bravada in 2004 with about 84000 miles and now she has 158,000 on the clock. Over the past 5 years I have had to put some money into her but nothing that I would consider outside the ordinary maintenance. Luckily I have a personnel mechanic that has made many repairs to the vehicle at @ 40% less than what it would cost at a dealer. Every time I want to trade her in the vehicle gives me this soulful look and I give in and hang on to her a little bit longer. I am very attached to this car but I know some day we will have to part ways. I would like to hold on to her until she reaches her 200K birthday.

Love it, hate it! - 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada
By Travlinman - August 21 - 1:10 amBought it w/ 81k mi and now have 124k on it. Runs great after many repairs, some due to age, some due to quality problems. Replaced/repaired brakes, U- joints, tires, battery, shocks, plugs/wires, water pump, belt tensioner, heater/air cond, headlamps, idler arm, oil leaks, etc. Have prob w/ stereo speakers also. Many interior squeaks & rattles. Very slow acceleration and ride deteriorates a bit past 65-70 mph. Rides nice at lower speeds and generally feels secure and smooth w/ AWD.

Happy owner - 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada
By Carl - July 7 - 10:36 amFeel lucky and happy I bought my Bravada at a VERY GOOD PRICE 4 years ago. It needed brakes and tires when I bought it. Thats all Ive done to the car. Now the service light came on and dealer cant fix it after spending $1000. Runs great! Paint is better than newer cars on the road. Im amazed at all the extras it came with it, all power moon roof, driver seat windows mirrors and ALL WORKS!

Good Vehicle for the $$$ - 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada
By castledevcon - June 6 - 10:00 amI own a 91 and a 98 Bravada. Both have been very reliable. You get a lot of vehicle for you dollar in comparison to many other SUVs. It rides better than most true SUVs and the AWD is great for inclimate weather.
