This Year's Model Updates:

This Nissan Versa is an all-new vehicle for 2007. This affordable subcompact makes a name for itself with a roomy interior and many standard and optional features. A hatchback body style debuts first, with a sedan coming out later in the year.

Pros:
  • Large interior with simple but attractive control layout, solid quality cabin materials, wide selection of features, comfortable rear seat.
Cons:
  • Noisy powertrain at high revs, vague steering, less than athletic handling and braking, more expensive than competing models.

  • Good starter car but never again! - 2007 Nissan Versa

Been driving the 07 hatchback for 7 years now- this was my first new car that I paid for myself. Its fun to drive (as are all manual transmission cars) but it lacks hp & zip. Mpg is good if you stay under 60 mph but if you have a lead foot like me, good luck. Hubcaps flew off after year 1. Someone stole the antenna tip on year 2. Tires seem to have the insane will to stay flat- I dont know how often Ive had to patch them up and they have the propensity to find all sharp objects and impale themselves on it. Tires have been routinely changed every year because of that. Rotors changed after 4 years. Battery after 3 years. Immaculate maintenance on my part cant help this vehicle.

  • Horrible little car!! - 2007 Nissan Versa

I have had this car for 2 years. Of those two years, both were riddled with problems. The factory tires needed replacing at 8,000 miles, the brake rotors needed replacing at 14,000 miles, the check engine light came on at 18,000 miles, and the CVT is wayyy over-rated. Its not fun being on a highway at 70mph and not being able to hear people in the same car! The mpg is way worse than predicted by the window sticker, the best I got for city was 25, but highway mileage was ok at about 30. The sticker said 31 city and 34 highway. I wouldnt suggest this car for someone buying new in order to avoid repair costs. This thing is like an iceberg in snow. You go with the road.

  • It will do - 2007 Nissan Versa

Just turned over 5,000 miles on my Versa equiped with 6spd and power package. Interior room is great. Kids like the back seat. Layout is functional for a car of this price. No defects so far. Gas mileage is a real disappointment. Rarely get 30 mpg in mixed driving i.e 50% hwy 50% city. No way will this care get 30 mpg with the AC on no matter how you drive it. Performance isnt great, but as expected for a car this size. But, for $14K with front and side airbags, it will do.

  • Above average - 2007 Nissan Versa

I looked for a year for a car I could fit in at 65", 225 pounds and with my limited budget. In the end, flipped a coin and went with resale value. Not nearly as much fun to drive as my 99 Accent, but its nice to sit high so I dont have to change lanes for every truck that comes by. Top heavy car, tons of interior space, crappy speakers, looks cute, good color, good price. Havent gotten used to the 6 speed yet, I have to shift down to third or fourth on all the corners, sluggish first year.

  • big disappointment - 2007 Nissan Versa

I expected much better gas mileage, the best gas mileage I have ever gotten is 28 and that is on highway. Its noisy and bouncy, not a very good ride. I had an Aveo that I enjoyed a lot more and paid $10000 less for. Did I ever goof! This car doesnt have much storage space in the back/trunk and the seat does not fold flat

  • Ages fast - 2007 Nissan Versa

I have had the car 15 months and in that time the fuel pressure regulator was replaced. At 14 months the car developed a rough idle and strong vibration that could not be repaired and I have been told this is "within normal" for this car. I have never had a rougher idling car in all the small cars I have owned.
