Rogue review - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Dean Spicher - July 10 - 11:32 amPurchased this SUV to replace a Frontier pickup which was only 7 months old when it was in a total loss crash (BAD). Decided to purchase a small SUV instead of a pickup as a replacement. So far the Rogue has been a pleasant choice. It is solid, quiet and comfortable to drive. It has been doing well with fuel mileage, better than the Jeep Patriot I had before the Frontier. The surround camera system is great for parking and the Bose system is great. Overall I am happy, with the only complaint that the 2.5 is a little rough compared to other 4s in this class, but the acceleration and highway manners more than make up for the rougher than average idle. I looked at Ford, and Jeep comps and went with the Nissan. Overall I think its the better choice for me (GOOD).

Gone Rogue! - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Chris - February 23 - 3:56 amShopped around for a long time looking for a vehicle to replace my 2009 Honda Fit which I loved. However, Im a big guy and I was getting tired of a small car. My daughter will get the Fit and I started looking at SUVs. I test drove the Escape, RAV4, CRV , HRV and the new Sportage. I tell you, I like them all but the Rogue, in my opinion, had the nicest interior and I always liked the exterior. The Ford was more sporty and higher tech, the Sportage was real nice too but it didnt even come with a spare tire and the mileage wasnt that good for this class. Can,t go wrong with any Honda product in my opinion but the HRV was a fit on steroids and I liked the Rogue feel better. The Toyota was more expensive for the similar trim level. We have a 2012 Nissan Quest van and its been great. So I opted for the Rogue since I got a good deal. Overall, Im very pleased. The reviews said that it did not have enough power but I find it more than adequate and Ive been averaging 30 mpg! The seats are a little firm but tolerable. The ride is nice and fairly quiet. The Fit had a great sounding stereo but Im pleased with the Rogues. I had a problem with the passenger side front door rattling which the dealer has addressed. I think the Rogue is a excellent value and I would recommend it without reservations.

Luxury Wagon - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Pam Lundberg - February 18 - 9:39 amI purchased this lovely Rogue because someone t-boned me and totaled my 2009 Murano - :( I LOVED that Murano, so this Rogue had big tires to fill. I bought the SL AWD and it truly is nice. Off the bat though, Im not sitting as high off the road as I was in the Murano, I feel like Im driving in a sedan. Also, the Murano had the V6 and this little nugget is 4 cyclinder CVT - I do notice a slight hesitation when accelerating (but only because Im a brat comparing to the Murano). So those are really the only hmmm moments Im having. Other than that theres plenty of room inside. More head room than the Murano. I was able to go with the almond leather interior and its STUNNING! I have the moonroof that goes the length of the roof, so that is amazing as well. There are cameras galore all over the car, so Im able to look at the screen and see both a normal view AND a birds-eye view of the car.

Wouldve been a 5 if not for 1 thing - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Nicko - February 12 - 8:28 amThe car handles nicely for a 2.5L and the entertainment is nice. The only thing i absolutely hate about it is the seats. They are really uncomfortable and push your head forward if youre trying to rest your back on the seat. The bottom part of the seat is ok and holds you in place, id rate the back but the headrest restricts me from resting comfortably and the head rest sucks.

Worth a look - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By John Walters - January 20 - 2:05 pmDoes it ever make you wonder when reading professional car reviews if the writer thinks hes testing a sports car instead of a CUV. You read things like" CVT drone" uninvolved driving characteristics, slow acceleration etc. Ive got a lot of driving experience behind the wheel and I can tell you the Rouge doesnt disappoint. I didnt buy the vehicle to be able to hit 60 in 6 seconds or test its high speed cornering ability. The Rouge just feels good offering a pleasant controlled ride with little to no springboard effect, unlike some I tried while test driving others in this class. The steering weight is ideal adding to its car like feel. The interior is nicely finished and the cloth seats quite comfortable. The Rouge features an unusual adjustable shelf system in the rear that provides an array of choices to fit storage needs or privacy. Although there is a downside as the shelving may be too flimsy to support heavier items. Must admit I had some reservations over a CVT as opposed to the more flexible 6 speed auto/manual transmission I prefer. Happily those concerns were unfounded. Yes under full acceleration youll notice increased engine noise but overall the vehicle interior is pretty quiet. And there is an allowance to use engine compression to slow vehicle speed when appropriate, a commendable option for an AWD equipped vehicle. The main purpose of the CVT is efficiency which pushes the Rouge up in the MPG ratings. There may be better choices if you plan on towing or carrying heavy loads. But the Rouge should satisfy most family needs, it even comes with a 3rd row seat if so desired. While I prefer my luxury vehicle for long trips, the Rouge is more enjoyable to drive on the windy hilly roads that prevail in this area. I feel better knowing my wife now drives a vehicle that can handle all types of weather and road conditions. Not to mention the utility value of todays CUVs.

Rogue S 2016 review - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Karen - January 20 - 10:32 amThis car presents really well on the exterior. I was given this car as a rental while my 2015 RAV4 was being repaired. I received the base model. The engine in all the 2016 models are the same. (I believe) Acceleration in the Rogue was poor. The gas pedal felt spongy. I would step on it and not get immediate acceleration. In order to pass at highway speeds (60mph) I would step on the pedal only to have it sink down until it finally kicked in with some pick-up. I understand this is because of the CVT transmission. (I now know I dont care for CVT transmissions) The steering felt heavy to me, and the Rogue SUV sat lower to the ground. More car like. The entire vehicle felt heavy to me with most of the weight being toward the bottom of the car. (If youve ever driven a snowmobile youll know what I mean. ) at first I thought the vehicle was front wheel drive only because it felt like the car was being pulled along. But no its awd. So why this heavy feel to the drive train? The ride is okay. The interior is nice. The ac seems to work okay. I can only compare it to the RAV4. The steering is smooth and light but still tactile. The car feels evenly balanced. I dont feel like the front tires are pulling the vehicle along. Acceleration is immediate when I need it. The gas pedal is responsive. The RAV4 sub/seating position is higher than the rogue. I like that. Maybe I had this driving experience because the Rogue was a base model. I wouldnt purchase this vehicle.

Love this car - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Jeff Wilkinson - September 2 - 3:09 pmWe were also interested in the Mazda CX-5 but went with the Nissan because it is very easy for my aging in-laws to get in and out of the back seat. The Mazda had a much narrower door opening. Also, the back seat is slightly elevated making it easier to see for the passengers in the back. Although the driving experience isnt as sporty as the Mazda, we really like the CVT transmission and are impressed with the fuel economy around town. All of the buttons are in the right place and we love the looks of the beige interior.

Nissan Rogue 2016 problem with suspension - 2016 Nissan Rogue
By Roidy Viquillon Gomez - August 8 - 10:22 amsome of this models comes with manufacturer problems. After 1 week bought it, it start to crackle noise when turn the wheels, right or left side. After first attempt to reparation, passed 7 weeks start again the same noise problem. Nissan corporation do not have a right solution now, they say the engineering are still working for a real solution. I mean, this models comes with suspension issues. Im frustrated.
