Overview & Reviews
A stabilizer bar is now standard on the GLE model while new titanium-colored accents have been added to the 16-inch SE and 15-inch GXE alloy wheels. The SE gets auto on/off headlights and all Quests now come with a video entertainment system at no extra cost.
- Plenty of features and gadgets, versatile interior, solid handling.
- Needs more power, needs more interior space, poor crash test scores.

peice of junk - 2000 Nissan Quest
By mommydriver101 - February 25 - 10:00 amWe have had this van for 2 years and used it only for vacations we have a lot of miles oin it but there are many problems! The hood and all over the car there are crows feet which means the paint is going to peel. there is a really loud rattleing sound in the back but nobody seems to know what is wrong. the trasmison kicks really hard when you floor it. the acceleration stinks. going up a hill it takes about 30 seconds to even get close to the speed. WE are Not very happy with this car. we have had to take it to the dealer alot to get many things repaired. the tv breaks very easly but works good when is not broken.

Average Vehicle - 2000 Nissan Quest
By Davethentman - September 8 - 4:43 amOverall a pretty good vehicle - gets good mileage (I average about 20-22 mpg) for the kind of vehicle it is. Lots of little interior problems - entertainment center, front cup holder ratchet on both sides broke after only 1 1/2 years, door handle chrome paint is peeling on both sides. Have had to replace 1 fuel injector, and have had to constantly clean them (service engine soon light blinks for short periods and the idle goes very rough - mechanic says its the fuel injectors).

What happened? - 2000 Nissan Quest
By Alex - April 14 - 1:13 amMy original Quest was a 98 whose only defect was the heater going in 2 yrs. My 2000 gave me major problems and is about to die. I dont understand. I know people with 98s and 96s who havent had anywhere near the problems Ive had. Even with mechanical breakdown I feel I traded in a great minivan for a knock-off of the original. The front end makes noise always like its falling apart and now it is stalling like a 90 year old at the olympics. My friend has a 98 with 30k more miles on it than mine (147k) and he has no major trouble and puts a lot of miles everyday on it. Cant wait to say goodbye to it.

Constant Front End Problems - 2000 Nissan Quest
By NBS - October 12 - 8:23 amThe front end always sounds like its falling apart. Constant noise and replacement of tires and brakes (almost annually), CV Joints, Struts, etc.. Several thousand dollars in front end work at dealership only to always have the same problems. The noise is a horrible creak that sounds like the front end is falling off. People stare at us if we pull up in a drive thru! TV/VCR broke first year and dealer refused to replace/fix it even though its a factory TV/VCR. If you buy one of these you better have alot of money for tires and brakes. After researching, found out thats due to the thing being built on a car chassis instead of a truck chassis. Cant wait to get rid of it.

BRAKE PROBLEMS - 2000 Nissan Quest
By NISSANCT - April 19 - 10:00 amWe have had our van for almost 4 years and we constantly have to replace the front brakes. None of my other cars have had this problem, but it seems every 6000 miles the brakes are completly shot again. It is in the garage again today and the brakes are 90% gone. They are covered by a warranty for work, but it is a pain to keep bringing it in. We have also had a problem with the gas pedal sticking when you go to hit the gas. My daughter is just learning to drive and she noticed it also.

Decent...but no Odyssey or Sienna. - 2000 Nissan Quest
By F23A4 - April 8 - 10:00 amWe bought our Quest new in 2000 and chose it specifically due to the features:price ratio. At the time it was very unusual to see minivan with sport tuned suspension, HR rated tires, power moonroof and a standard TV/VCP unit. Given the demand for the Odyssey and Sienna, we were able to acquire our Quest for several thousand below MSRP. That said, its been in the shop more times than any vehicle weve ever owned. Summary:the brakes are in need of constant servicing, replacement headlight bulbs have burned out the wiring several times, radio display ceased, the passenger side pwr window needed to be repaired twice, its now in the shop for a trans rebuild & were on our second TV/VCP unit.
