  • Great Off-Road Vehicle - 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

Although not a power-wagon on the highway, my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS 4WD has been the best off-road vehicle I have ever owned, and the list is long. I have not been able to get this vehicle stuck, and I have driven it into some areas I had no reason being in. I especially enjoy pulling Jeeps out of trouble, then telling them I never shifted into full 4WD. The expressions on the owners faces are priceless.

  • Great All Around SUV - 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

I purchased my Montero Sport used in 2004 with 40,000 miles on it and have put 60,000 miles on it in 28 months. In Oct. 2006 was rear-ended on the highway, tipped on its side, and slid 100 feet. It was totaled by insurance company. During those two years I didnt have any single problem with this truck. I changed the oil properly and the break pads. Thats all I did. Michelin XLT tires make this truck drive like a car.

  • One of the best looking SUVs - 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
    By -

I have recently owned a Escape. In my opinion the best small SUV on the market. Since, the 0% financing incentatives I decided to upgrade my car. I like the looks of the Monterro Sport LTD. It handle the farily nice, noticable slower on take off than the Escape and more of an typical SUV drive feel. Economy is average to a little above average, in comparison to other SUVs. Main suggested improvements are tighter steering and revise the timing of the transmission. Overall so it seems like a nice car.

  • Slightly better than a bus pass - 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
    By -

The worst experience I had with this truck was changing a flat tire. The truck cames with wheel locks that strip after being tightened with a torque wrench. Had to get the thing towed in to the dealer to have the tire changed. Th dealer stated that is one of their major complaints. After being standed on the highway on Mothers day, paying almost $200.00 in towing fees, replacing the lug nuts and losing a days pay I would rather have a bus pass. Wrote Mitsubishi and got the brush off. This is my first Mitsubishi and my last unless all other auto makers go out of busines.

  • MONTERO SPORT - 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

THE TRANSMISSION IS VERY "SKIPPY" AND THE ACCELERATION IS LETHARGIC, BUT WHEN UP TO 4TH AND AT CRUISIUNG SPEED IT IS A SMOOTH RIDE.
