Nice SUV! - 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
By gsx050 - August 24 - 10:00 amSo far so good! It does feel a bit underpowered even with the 3.5 liter engine, but I guess Im not expecting a race car either. It seems to hold highway speeds very well and doesnt bounce you around like some other truck based SUVs will. To me, its perfect for a "mostly on the road" SUV with its softer spring rates, etc. (I cant remember the last time I needed to "climb over a boulder"). Anyway, I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone that isnt chasing billy goats up the sides of mountains!

Little red wagon - 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
By little red wagon - August 24 - 9:53 amI got this car from my aunt. So far great she Burns a little oil but other than that problem free. The side steps give an added look and so do the mud flaps.

Keeps on Tickin - 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
By dap - June 24 - 10:06 pmWe have owned our Red Montero Sport for around 5 years now, and this thing just keeps on tickin. I have been planning on buying a newer vehicle, but since this one is paid off and still runs so well, and still looks very good for a 97, I just cant see any reason for getting rid of it. One big plus is that it is roomy in the back seat for my two teens and has plenty of interior room throughout. The seat belts are beginning to lose their "spring" but its not a major problem, especially for an 12 year old vehicle. I have never owned this old of a vehicle that is so trouble free. Tune ups and other routine maintenance is about all we have had to do. Looks newer than 97.

We love our truck - 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
By ljrader - April 25 - 4:10 pmThis SUV has served us from DINK to two kids. It is just now showing one little spot of rust, 8 years later. Repairs have been only minor or upkeep. Just wish it got better mileage

Do your homework - 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
By Lake Man - March 25 - 2:00 amI decided to trade my 2WD 4 yr. old 4Runner for the AWD/4WD Sport. I read the reviews and checked out re-sale values before I bought. The Sport rides better, is quieter, and has more power. My 4Runner had a much harser ride. I wish the Sport had tighter steering. I intend to drive my Sport over 100,000 miles. I think the re-sale at that point will be only a little less, and it cost $4,000 less, than than a 4Runner similarly equiped. I pull some boats and find the Sport a perfect compromise between comfort and utility. My Sport has had no problems to date. IF that continues (my 4Runner was "bulletproof"), Ill stay very happy with my choice.
