Overview & Reviews
The Marquis receives additional safety features, including an emergency trunk release, child seat-anchor brackets and Mercury's Belt Minder system. The interior gets a new trim color, Dark Charcoal. One new exterior color will be offered, Tropic Green. The handling package's rear-axle ratio changes from 3.27 to 3.55. The Grand Marquis Limited will be offered later in the 2000 model year.
- Classic American V8 and rear-drive layout, considerable interior space, lots of luxury for a reasonable price.
- Lack of refinement, squishy ride unless the optional handling package is ordered.

buy used! - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
By aguywhoiswritingthis - April 16 - 10:00 amCompared to 1992 it replaced it has better construction quality, I think. But, worse ride, (still very good) more unattractive, smaller gas tank,(a mere 350 mile range) and an oddly shaped, although still large trunk.

2000 Grand Marquis - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
By Nancy - February 20 - 11:10 amThis car has been the best in reliability of any cars Ive owned. I have had the car for 8 years and never had to put a dime into it. It still looks and runs great. The gas mileage around town is about 18 miles a gallon and about 22 on long drives. It would be great for older folks who cant get in smaller cars.

My 3rd Grand Marquis - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
By Family of 5 in Illin - April 17 - 9:33 amThis is the third Grand Marquis that I have owned. I buy them with about 50,000 miles for about 50% of their original sticker price and easily put on another 100,000 with very few repairs. They offer enough room for me, my spouse, and our three kids for medium length trips. (We use the van for longer jaunts.) It is very comfortable on highways as I travel for business or recreation, and the white car with a law enforcement profile doesnt hurt either.

Its not what you think - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
By jscheide - December 5 - 2:00 amThis car has the ride and confort of a 70s boat. But thats all it has in common. This car handles better than my 93 escort did. It gets better gas milage than my 98 ranger 4cyl .It has plenty of power This car is a great minivan alternative. All 3 of my kids (two in car seats) fit comfortably in the back. And you can buy a model that is a few years old at a dirt cheap price. I am basing the relibility in part on my 1984, which would put any toyota or honda to shame.

Grand Marquis 2000 - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis
By Shan - September 21 - 9:20 amThis is our 3rd Grand Marquis. All have been excellent mechanically. Totaled one and came out unharmed. Noise level could be improved. Seam in leather seats hurt my back. Feel pretty safe on long trips.
