I CANT GET ENOUGH - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By rx8man - July 30 - 10:00 amTHIS IS THE BEST CAR CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. MINE IS DUE NOVEMBER AND COULD NOT FAULT IT. I BROUGHT FROM ALEX AT ORPINGTON MAZDA AND WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW HELPFUL AND HONEST EVERYONE AT THE GARAGE WAS. I JUST CANT WAIT TO GET IT.

Fabulous Eight - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By 8ball - July 30 - 10:00 amThis car is absolutely fabulous. The electric steering is perfect, the balance of the chassis is fantastic. Exquisite interior and exterior styling and build quality. Most satisfying is the engine and the short throw 6 speed shifter. The guages and dash layout should win an award. The various "little" details are also neat.

Car just great - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By gfschoone - July 28 - 10:00 amI bought brand new a 2004 rx-8 and had no problems, for 5.5 years. Not bad. had 75k on it when in 10/09 discovered the oil cooler line(s) was/were rusted. Common problem (they should have been anything but rust-prone metal), and they were recalled in Canada. Anyways, the car sat for 9 months ($2500 repair approx), and was started with not much problem. I temp repaired it with a hose clamp and drove it for a month now (still leaks a good bit) , but it drives nearly as good as in march 2004. You either love this car or hate it, and i do feel for those who "have towed it 8 times to the garage in its first year", but i have had NO reliability problems; peace; out!!!

A little bit of Viper... - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By voister - July 24 - 2:00 amI absolutly love the body styling of the new RX-8. It looks similar to the Dodge Viper, especially the front. I chose the AT so that my wife could drive it and I am happy with the performance even though it has less horsepower than the 6-speed. Build quality is great and the interior is stylish. As others have said, gas milage is not great but hey, it is a sports car. Traded my Acura RSX Type- S in for it and have no regrets.

By Ricymac - July 14 - 10:00 amthis thing corners like a dream and everyone looks. Yellow is the only color to have. Nice comfortable interior and it has captured the attention of almost everyone. Like all rotary engines it is gutless at low RPM but screams when you get into the higher RPMs. The mileage has always been disapointing in rotary engines and still is. They guarantee it for 50,000 miles, but say that this rotary will last longer than that. I hope so.

Excellent and Poor - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By Leo - June 20 - 4:13 pmCar was an excellent experience until recently, it started to stall in hot weather. After looking in the internet to see if this was unusual I was surprised to see that persons in hot climates, with or without humidity have had major issues with the engine. Mazda seems to have done all it could to fix the issue without having to replace the engine but in some cases the harm done to the engine has been too great and an engine replacement is needed - if you have this issue get to the dealer before the warranty expires or you will be stuck. I now have a new engine at 56K miles and all is well. Aside from the engine issue, the car had been the best I have owned.

By ex FC 13BT owner - June 12 - 2:00 amI love anything with Rotary Engine. This new 13B-MSP is by far the best rotary engine ever, well best engine ever IMHO. Great in every aspect. I can "feel" the passon of Mazda engineers from this car. Thank you!

Dont buy an rx8 Mazda will not help you - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By Lou - June 9 - 2:00 amHello I purchased an 04 rx8 in April 2010 I have 135,000 miles on it now worst investment ever. There are recalls after recalls and if the car has more than 100,000 miles Mazda could care less unlike Toyota who fix their mistakes Mazda wont. Lets start with the airbag recall $1200 to fix Mazda wont fix it for me bad harness, crack in clutch pedal $600 Mazda wont fix it, lower ball joint I replaced roughly $50 Mazda wouldnt. All of these items are recalls. Also lousy fuel to power ratio and extremely high maintenance and cost. Go to a search bar and type Mazda rx8 complaints and recalls pages and pages will come up.

The interior - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By twinturbodrift - June 5 - 2:00 amThe 6 speed manual is a great car, although if equipped with the navagation system, you can easily bump the NAV. controls while shifting. the handling is almost as good as the older rotary, the 93-95 RX-7. Owning both, I prefer the twin turbocharged 2 seater RX-7 anyday (even with reliability issues). But nonetheless an exciting car to drive. It gets stares.
