Overview & Reviews
The RX-8 is an all-new car for 2004. Its arrival marks the return of Mazda's rotary engine to the U.S. market. Priced less than Nissan's 350Z, the RX-8 also offers four doors and a usable backseat.
- Low base price, agile handling yet still comfortable enough for daily use, room for four in a pinch.
- Option packages can get expensive, iffy interior ergonomics.

No regrets - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By mikgal0 - September 18 - 5:00 amIm always a little wary of buying the first model year of car but Im over 11,000 miles with not the first problem. Excellent handling and ride with good acceleration thta could use a little more torque in the lower RPMs of first gear. A little thirsty for gas especially if driven fast. I tend to average about 19 MPG. I love the short throw gearbox and tight steering. A really fun car to drive.

Awesome - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By mkeebler - September 5 - 2:00 amJust purchased my new RX-8 6 speed. What an awesome car! Ive owned 3 Miatas in the past 10 years, and this car is like the big brother (sturdy, fast, cool...). With 2 kids and a wife, this thing is even practical! The rotary engine is king! Sounds like a jet engine!

The Best - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By Yolo7878 - August 30 - 2:00 amGot the Mazda RX8 as a surprise Xmas present, and when I first saw it I really wasnt sure as I wanted a luxury car with a sport handling. All I can say is that I love this car, in fact I have the car a little less then 2 months and I have put 2500 miles on it

An excellent car! - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By AndyABOM - August 19 - 10:00 amAn exciting car. I love the handling and performance, although the HP is a little lacking in the automatic. The biggest suprise was the lack of headroom. I am about 56" and find my hair frequently brushing the top. The MPG is a little low, but matches pretty well with Mazdas estimates. She handles very nicely and takes corners in such a way that just makes you want to push your driving skills harder and harder. An exciting drive!

By rx8man - July 30 - 10:00 amTHIS IS THE BEST CAR CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. MINE IS DUE NOVEMBER AND COULD NOT FAULT IT. I BROUGHT FROM ALEX AT ORPINGTON MAZDA AND WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW HELPFUL AND HONEST EVERYONE AT THE GARAGE WAS. I JUST CANT WAIT TO GET IT.

A little bit of Viper... - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By voister - July 24 - 2:00 amI absolutly love the body styling of the new RX-8. It looks similar to the Dodge Viper, especially the front. I chose the AT so that my wife could drive it and I am happy with the performance even though it has less horsepower than the 6-speed. Build quality is great and the interior is stylish. As others have said, gas milage is not great but hey, it is a sports car. Traded my Acura RSX Type- S in for it and have no regrets.

Perfect car for me! - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By ex FC 13BT owner - June 12 - 2:00 amI love anything with Rotary Engine. This new 13B-MSP is by far the best rotary engine ever, well best engine ever IMHO. Great in every aspect. I can "feel" the passon of Mazda engineers from this car. Thank you!

The interior - 2004 Mazda RX-8
By twinturbodrift - June 5 - 2:00 amThe 6 speed manual is a great car, although if equipped with the navagation system, you can easily bump the NAV. controls while shifting. the handling is almost as good as the older rotary, the 93-95 RX-7. Owning both, I prefer the twin turbocharged 2 seater RX-7 anyday (even with reliability issues). But nonetheless an exciting car to drive. It gets stares.
