I drove this car for three weeks. I loved it. Unfortunately a guy turned in front of me without looking. My car got totaled. This car saved my life. The paramedics could not believe how much the car was squished and not me. Besides the normal symptoms of a crash, I am way better than I should be. This is one amazing car in all aspects.

The car is really fun to drive. I love the option of the manual shift. Performance is great as long as you keep it maintained,(oil chg) Having gone from an SUV to the mazda, was a shock at first, but once I got used to being so low, I now love it! (much better gas milage.) The one thing Im not crazy about is the tires.........they seem to need filled more often, and you can sure tell by the pull when driving. The interior is cheap, but I like the design. (the SUV had all leather) Overall, I would give the car an 8.

Sure, youve read all of the other reviews and they all said how great the P5 is. Well, guess what---they are ALL true! Ive owned a 99 civic Si and let me tell you, I think this, overall, is more fun to drive than my Si. This is probably the most fun to drive car I have owned since I had to get rid of my 1990 RX-7 Turbo. Well imagine that. The RX-7 is a Mazda to. Coincidence? I dont think so. Do yourself a favor. Go buy straight to your local Mazda dealership and BUY THIS CAR! I guarantee you wont regret it. Oh, my P5 is silver with ABS/side airbags/4- speed shiftable automatic transmission (cool)/and pwr moonroof, plus all standard options.

Why this isnt the most driven car on the road, Im not sure. Considering Price, style, performance and reliability (1 year 26,000 miles, couple rattles, nothing major thus far) it cannot be beat. My daily commute makes me smile. Few can claim such a thing. Dont buy the Protege5, I like that people still look twice at it, wondering "What kind of car is that?"

This is a great car, I love it!!! Its fun, sporty and so cool. Cant wait for warmer weather to get here, to open the windows and moonroof up. The midnite blue color is really nice.

This little car has never failed me. Its as reliable as a Swiss watch. Its the perfect car for "running around in town and to work every day". Living in Miami I use the A/C 11 months out of the year. My traffic commute is in stop & go traffic and I average about 24 - 25 miles per gallon. Folding the back seat forward provides all the space two people need to load luggage for a 14 night cruise. Sustained highway speeds running above 70 mph is not what the car was designed for. I suspect Ill be replacing the original tires at 30,000 miles. This size is an expensive replacement. I change my oil every 3,000 miles. My Bentley is painted silver and looks fantastic!

Went from a Winstar to this!!! We might miss the extra space, but thats all. This is a fun car to drive and its comfortable even with the kids in the back! They love it too. Weve found it to be quite versatile so far in our use.

Had 2001 Miata SE. Had baby. Sold Miata. My wife and I were wondering what we would get to replace the car that we loved. After debating a few options like the RAV 4, CRV, and Matrix/Vibe twins, we drove and loved the Protege5. It is as fun to drive as a four cylinder wagon can be, gets good fuel economy, looks cool, and can support my canoe on the roof. The leather seats are supportive, the instrumentation is where it should be, the radio is great, and it has every bell and whistle we need. Mazda has done a fantastic job with this car and I know we will be pleased for years, especially with Mazdas penchant for quality control.
