Fun little car - 2003 Mazda Protege5
By ADrugAgainstWar - August 16 - 4:46 amI bought this car last year at a dealer. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the body design, and i still love it. i think the new Mazda3 is a little too bubbly, when they designed this thing they werent afraid to add a few edges! Fun to drive, has some of that "zoom-zoom" at lower speeds. unfortunately, the little 4-banger does have to try a bit to get up steep hills, and it is very sluggish when four friends are packed inside. Oil filter is kind of a pain to get to. This baby does have a good clutch though. catches in the exact same place every time. I kind of wish it was RWD, but thats wishful thinking. its as close as you can get to having a miata that you can haul people in

By RICH HOSTELLEY - August 8 - 2:00 amGREAT CAR! FUN TO DRIVE. CARRIES STUFF VERY WELL DUE TO LARGE TRUNK. NEEDS JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE ENGINE POWER.

By Daddy Mac - June 27 - 2:00 amThe first day I saw this car I feel in love. The exterior styling looks like somebody gave it a showroom look! The interior is great with leather! The performance is excellent. Overall very happy with the purchase. I highly recommend this car to everyone.

Protege/prodigy - 2003 Mazda Protege5
By bob green - June 4 - 4:16 pmIf you want some fun on a budget try prying one of these away from some one. This is my sixth Mazda (including a 91 Miata) so you may sense a bias. However this car is so easy to drive enthusiastically, my only regret is that I cant drop the top! Corners flat, easy to drive in city traffic. Peppy without the AC going, OK with. Cruises happily at 75 plus, no problem. Fuel consumption is about 30, but can be stretched to 34 with a lighter foot. Still no rattles or squeaks. At 50,000, feels like its just breaking in. No defects, one minor factory recall. My wife likes to sneak away with it once in a while. What else can I say? Find a good one used and drive it til it drops (200,000+)

Fun - 2003 Mazda Protege5
By Nickohos - April 25 - 2:00 amI love the way my car feels when I drive it because it handles like a dream. What the Protege5 lacks in power compared to its competitors, it more than makes up for in torque and excellent handling. I test drove quite a few cars and none of them were as fun to drive as the Mazda.

Best Choice I Could Have Made! - 2003 Mazda Protege5
By GoKart4KB - April 14 - 10:00 amWhat an outstanding choice the Protege5 was! I love this little car. I have been a dyed-in-the-wool SUV owner and never saw the draw of cars. Now I do! I zip in and out of traffic, stop on a dime, and take turns at a speed that would send my Chevy Blazer for a tumble. Fuel economy is good, parking is easy, but I still have room to haul larger purchases. I am so happy!
