King of the sport wagon - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By Seth - August 24 - 10:00 amI recently traded my 1999 miata ls in for a loaded 5 speed protege 5. This car is awesome. I get more looked and asked more questions about this car than my miata. I worked for a mazda dealership for almost 4 years and now work with BMW, but would rather be with mazda anyday. This car has great comfort, handling and so many features available. I truly believe mazda has a better product overall than honda and toyota, but just doesnt have the nameplate. I love my car and i think anyone that has one will agree it is a best buy in anyones book.

Pro5 - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By stallion - July 12 - 10:00 amI was skeptical at first of the Pro5, since I was in a Z3 prior to, but I was pleassantly surprised how much fun it is to drive! It handles like a sporty car (not quite a sports car) but is still very practical for hauling and storing for long trips. It is extremely economically priced including several options. I received all options I wanted and still kept it around $21,000. I highly recommend the PROTEGE5.

Mazda Protege5 - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By mkn - July 10 - 11:26 amThis is a great little car. So fun to drive and extremely reliable. I drove a Honda Civic for several years before I bought this car and what a difference with the Mazda. Its so much more comfortable and driver-friendly.

Pretty Cool - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By Aerdna of Brandon - May 24 - 10:00 amI am 18 and I have only had the car for three months. I previously had a 2000 Honda Civic which was fine until I got rear-ended twice. The Protege 5 I have now is a manual transmission and wicked fun to drive. It comes with a strut bar so to me, it sort of feels like a racecar. I feel sporty in it and with some investments into the engine, I think I can actually be sporty. I would recommend this car to just about anyone that loves driving. It goes a long way on just a little gas too.

Zoom... - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By pasailor - February 28 - 10:00 amThe P5 is FUN! It is a great car to drive, handles fantastic and is versatile. The only drawback of the car is horsepower but it has good torque that just about makes up for that shortcoming. It has a very flexible engine without the peaky power that some small cars have. Comfort is great as I have done over 700 miles in a day (solo) in this car. Very nicely carries both a canoe and a kayak on top with Yakima racks.

By John Bassett - February 28 - 10:00 amI am the Fleet Manager at a Mazda dealership in Seaside california. I have so many customers asking me to get this car into inventory that I cant keep up sometimes. It targets a broad audience and handles like nothing else.

Great Car - 2002 Mazda Protege5
By Mark - January 16 - 9:50 pmI am probably one of the few people to put this many miles on a car in just a few years. I have 180,000 miles on it and the car never quits. Other than basic maintenance I have had only two problems in all my miles. 1) Power steering pump started leaking and 2) rear brake caliper froze (probably due to Chicago winters). The engine is still strong. The wear ability of the products used to build this car is superior. The car interior still looks very close to new. I cant say enough about this car. If youre looking for a reliable, fun to drive, fuel efficient all around do everything car, look no further. The problem will be trying to find one. They only made them in model year 2002 and 2003.
