This Year's Model Updates:

For 2010, the Mazda CX-9 undergoes a mild exterior and interior styling refresh to reflect the company's latest design identity. Other changes include a revised multi-information display with a rearview camera, real-time traffic functionality for the navigation system, improved interior materials and updated rear ventilation controls with a readout.

Pros:
  • Sporty performance, stylish cabin, easy access to spacious third row, solid build quality, high crash-test scores.
Cons:
  • Long rear doors can be hard to open in tight parking spaces, stiff ride with 20-inch wheels, a few cheap interior bits, stingy interior storage.

  • Replaced R350 - First Trip - ZOOM ZOOM! - 2010 Mazda CX-9

Our CX9 Grand Touring just replaced an MB R350. Pros for the CX9 - Value for $, Handling, Power, Nav, Really Great Sound System, Handier Seats / Utility, Power Liftgate sounds like it will work, Regular Gas, Style, Interior Fit & Finish / Style. Cons - Gas Cost really isnt - CX9 is 10% less gas mileage, but uses Regular!! Seats other than drivers seat are a little less solid. Drivers seat is better than R, especially for medium height drivers. If you need something midsized and flexible and miss CX9 you are missing a great choice - we tested a lot. Most amazing feature - the car got looks from people in LA - must be the new colors and big wheels!

  • Best SUV On the Road - 2010 Mazda CX-9

I have been shopping for a new vehicle for over a year and every time I found a vehicle that sparked my interest, I was let down when I saw the vehicle in person. When I came across the cx9 I loved the styling and after the test drive it was a done deal. The cx9 all the room I was looking for and was a blast to drive. The cx9 is a perfect combination of SUV and sports car.

Truly a zoom-zoom crossover. Has tons of convenience features. Sleek outer appearance. Good gas mileage. Nice two-tone leather seats. Does not lock automatically when in Drive. I miss this feature. GPS is great but, you need to know your basic route or it will take you on a wild ride, hundreds of miles out of your way. Told me to go through San Antonio to get from Corpus Christi to Houston.

  • Problem with seat heaters - 2010 Mazda CX-9
    By -

I bought my CX9 to replace a 2008 Saturn Outlook. So far the car has impressed me except for the electric seat heaters,While driving my wifes seat became very hot and wouldnt shut off,I had to pull the fuse,I brought the car to the dealer which rpt the underneath of the seat was scorched and they took pictures to send to Mazda and Mazda rpts they have no fix for the problem. So now I have a new car without the electric seats I ordered until Mazda fixs the problem. It could have been worse,I guess the seats could have caught on fire and someone could have been hurt. So maybe you might want to wait on buying one until Mazda addresss the problem.

  • What an SUV should be..... - 2010 Mazda CX-9

Bought this truck for the family. We just got belted with almost 2 feet of snow. Truck handled it like a champ. Wife loves room. Had deposit on Highlander but went to see the CX9 and had to have it. Highlander is smaller, not enough storage space, 3 row entrance from only 1 side, middle seat in 2 row is small. CX9 drives great and stable. Kids actually want to sit in 3 row. Amazing the 3 row is split fold down.

  • GM to Mazda - 2010 Mazda CX-9

Replaced an 05 Trailblazer. CX-9 is far superior in quality, style and fun factor. Much quieter and better fuel economy than the blazer 6 cyl. The leather seats, and orange dash glow was very easy to read and attractive. Very quiet and great handling on the road. Acceleration was powerful and smooth. No jerky downshifting when trying to merge. Bose sound is a premium. Bluetooth is a must in todays connected environment. This is my first new Mazda and I look forward to a great driving and ownership experience. We got the 2010 Touring FWD. I also did aggressive braking and acceleration and was very impressed. A Zoom-Zoom 4 sure. Beat the Traverse, Edge, Sorento easily!

  • Wish I knew better - 2010 Mazda CX-9

Love the car. Definitely best in class. Then the problems started. Heated seats stay on and wont go off until the battery dies. Mazda has no solution. Cant get the same answer from the dealer and Mazda corporate. Depending on you you listen to - its a faulty design - and Mazda is working on a solution. My issue is that this problem has been around since October. Why did Mazda knowingly sell me a car with features that they knew did not work? If you expect the manufacturer to be there to support you when you have problems - this is not the car for you!

Not much to say other than if youre looking for a solid crossover with 3rd row seating, buy this vehicle! We have had the Grand Touring AWD for 4 months now, and absolutely love it. This is my 4th Mazda and I would put them up against Nissan and Toyota (before their recent woes) for overall quality/value. We replaced a Ford Eddie Bauer 4x4 Explorer and the comfort/ride of the CX-9 is superior, from the roomy cabin to the smooth transmission and solid quality feel of interior accessories.

We looked at tons of crossovers & suvs in this price range - and for the money it doesnt get ANY better than this car. I almost went with the more expensive GMC Acadia but after driving this - the GMC felt like a tinker toy in comparison! This is a very well made, well appointed and stylish car. I am pleasantly surprised at the gas mileage. This is basically a luxury crossover for about $15k less than the volvo, lexus or cadillac counterparts. My husband and I are starting a family this year and he calls this my "sexy mom car" =)

  • Love my CX-9 - 2010 Mazda CX-9

I test drove the 2010 CX-9, Highlander, Acadia and Flex. Key requirement was 3rd row of seats and fun to drive. After driving and researching all it came down to the Highlander and CX-9. Mazda CX-9 won on these items: - 3rd row is split. - More room behind 3rd row. Highlander barely had room for a row of groceries. - Access to 3rd row was WAY easier for the munchkins and adults than the Higlander. - Cx-9 is was more fun to drive. I liked the Highlander, but the Mazda has way more performance. Engine is smooth and shifts almost stealth. - Fit and finish is solid. Very nice looking car.
