Overview & Reviews
Astute consumers will note that the Lincoln Mark LT is actually the company's second attempt at building a luxury pickup truck. The similarly sized Blackwood predecessor had a few unique and interesting features, but was criticized for being both overpriced and impractical. Moreover, many felt the cabin did not live up to its luxurious nameplate. So Lincoln went back to the drawing board and the resulting Mark LT is more practical and stylish. Though obviously closely related to the crew-cab version of the Ford F-150 full-size pickup, Lincoln's version had a more contemporary and upscale interior and unique exterior styling cues.
As a competitor in the luxury truck segment, the Lincoln Mark LT pickup offered the benefits of an upscale look, a roomy cabin, a choice of a 5.5-foot bed or 6.5-foot bed, and smooth power and ride qualities. Full-size pickup truck shoppers just wanting something a bit different from a commonplace pickup probably drove away from a Lincoln dealership satisfied even though the Mark LT didn't offer anything really significant beyond what was available on the F-150. It was mostly cosmetic upgrades like a chrome Lincoln grille, special taillights and Lincoln badging.
The LT's final year was 2008. In its place, Ford introduced the F-150 Platinum, the highest trim level offered in the model lineup.
Most Recent Lincoln Mark LT
The Lincoln Mark LT was available only as a full-size crew-cab truck in two sizes: a standard-wheelbase model with 5.5-foot bed or a longer-wheelbase version with a 6.5-foot bed. Compared to its down-market Ford cousin, the Lincoln differed mainly in its styling. There was only one trim level available -- standard features included leather seating, wood trim, heated front seats, keyless entry and a premium MP3/CD audio system (with satellite radio added for '08). Options included rear-seat DVD entertainment, a navigation system, a rearview camera (added for '08), a power rear window and chromed 18-inch wheels, bed-rail caps and running boards.
Behind the Mark LT's signature Lincoln grille was a 5.4-liter V8 making 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque; the only transmission was a four-speed automatic. Depending on your traction requirements, two- and four-wheel-drive variants were available. The Mark LT's roomy cabin seated five and, although luxurious, it was not substantially different from its fully dressed Ford cousin. The leather seats were comfortable and had contrasting colored piping, while the gauges were chrome-trimmed and incorporated the Lincoln logo. To lend an upscale look to the cabin, Lincoln designers dressed up the dash with faux wood trim and leather; the trim on the dash, steering wheel and shifter was especially nice, as the exposed stitching added an extra element of refinement.
On the road, the Lincoln's V8 lacked the low-end grunt of the V8 engines in the Escalade EXT, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra, but almost made up for that with its smooth, quiet power delivery. Suspension tuning was on the soft side, resulting in a smooth and comfortable highway ride, but handling was not exactly nimble. Brake pedal feel was only so-so as well, though the Lincoln Mark LT stopped acceptably short for a vehicle that weighed nearly 3 tons loaded.
Past Lincoln Mark LT models
Lincoln introduced the Mark LT luxury pickup for the 2006 model year. A few changes came in 2007, as a navigation system, 20-inch chrome wheels and power-folding mirrors were added to the options list. The 6.5-foot cargo bed option was also new this year; all '06 Lincoln Mark LTs had a 5.5-foot bed.

MARK LT - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By benroyal - September 14 - 10:53 amThe best vehicle I have ever owned! It is a real "head turner". Pretty truck inside and out. Could easily be used to attend a black tie affair. The only drawback is fuel economy so I still spend a lot of time in my work truck.

Awesome Luxury Truck - 2007 Lincoln Mark LT
By Jeffrey Berezo - September 5 - 1:20 amI love my Mark LT, it is white chocolate with all options. It is luxurious, comfortable, the black leather seats are like sitting in your family room. I bought the are tonneau and had it painted to match. We drove it on a long trip over the weekend, it was incredible. The nay sayers must be GM people since there are no other luxury trucks on the market. I do not like the Cadillac it is not a truck.

Phat Ride - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By JB - May 20 - 6:03 pmIm 23 and this is the my 3rd brand new truck Ive bought. . . chevy, dodge, now lincoln. I shoped around and this is the best truck for the price (39 mo. lease) and all around package. Looks sharp, rides smooth over bumps, perfect size, drives and handles like a car not a truck. Pleasurable driving experience.

2007 lincoln mark lt - 2007 Lincoln Mark LT
By j hibbs - January 10 - 1:10 pmvery few on the road, so you stand out in this truck. i like the exterior styling along with the performance it offers. interior is comfortable. it is basically a fancy ford, and you get everything that entails owning a ford, good and bad(good looks and performance along with spotty build quality and questionable reliability). fuel mileage is poor(11 mpg in the city, up to 19 mpg on the highway at 70 mph), but it is a truck and can be used as a truck(4wd with 8600 lb. towing capacity). even with the negatives of this truck, i really enjoy driving it and would buy it again

Lincoln makes the F-150 shine - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By ken - September 7 - 2:50 pmI am leasing a Lincoln Mark-LT and have had it for 6 months. I am very impressed with the ride compared to the F-150 and the Lincoln look and feel are great. A lot of heads turn when they look at my Mark-LT and I keep it looking clean and shining all the time. My only cornern is that I am struggling to get 12.5 miles to a gallon in the city. I havent really had it on the highway for any extended period but I would suspect that I might get about 17-18 MPG at best. I had the dealer put on the chrome step bars, bed liner, bed extender and hard cargo cover which looks great.

VERY disappointed - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By JT - June 22 - 11:33 pmIm amazed to read all the positive reviews. Since purchasing 4 months ago, it has been in the shop 5 times for quality & build issues. 2 trim pieces were improperly installed at factory using FORD trim pieces that did not even match. The entire steering column had to be replaced due to an incessant rattle (manuf bulletin). Supports in the headliner were not properly fastened causing excessive overhead rattling. Two dealers cant seem to balance the tires. CHEAP plastic abounds in the interior, and the adjustment for tilt steering is primitive. This thing drives and handles like a beast, the seats are unsupportive and uncomfortable, & the paint has runs in it. 50K for this???

Leased It - Love It - It Is A Lincoln - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By Gammajune - April 8 - 9:30 pmPicked It Up on August 1. My husband is skilled trades at the Rouge Truck Plant, and the minute he saw it completed, knew we were upgrading from the F150 this lease term. Plus, great price and incentives for employees to GET IT OUT THERE and be seen! We had add-on steps installed - they only add more to the truck - have very visible chrome and make it pop even more. We tow a 7200 lb trailer, and there is no comparison between the F150 and Lincon LT - no shaking, no strain on engine: just a smooth luxury tow ride. Without towing it, just an great, as expected, Lincoln ride, only it is a Truck! Talk about stares, everyone smiles at this truck - no usual blah F150 is this Baby!

Now a happy customer - 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
By Now a happy customer - February 28 - 4:23 amI recently purchased a new Mark LT 2006, my first experience with a lincoln (ford) product. i was very hesitant because of the ford reputation of breaking down all the time. The first day with my new truck the entire electrical system went out, and the interior started to fall apart. I called the dealer, and they came and picked me up 35 miles away!!! Then gave me the the option of fix my truck, money back or to pick a different Mark LT of my choice. I selected a different model and though it runs great the quality of the plant needs work. It is missing moldings on both sides. I am pleased with the MARK LT, the attention to detail from the plant is really poor.
