Make Overview:

Lexus has earned a well-deserved reputation for turning out utterly refined luxury vehicles. The hallmarks of this brand are a quiet, well-crafted cabin, a plush ride and commendable performance from powerful, nearly silent engines.

Lexus began out of a desire by parent company Toyota to create a world-class luxury car brand. Groundwork for Lexus was laid in the mid-1980s, when the company began tapping U.S. focus groups in an attempt to define design concepts best suited for American consumers. Hundreds of prototypes were built and tested on Germany's autobahn and on U.S. roads.

In early 1989, the company unveiled its first two models (which would debut for the 1990 model year) -- the entry-level ES 250 sedan and the flagship LS 400 sedan. The LS 400 was lauded by both journalists and consumers alike for offering a stellar luxury-car experience, with a remarkably silent cabin, superb build quality and a refined V8 engine. At the same time, the LS was priced considerably lower than smaller, lesser-equipped, six-cylinder European rival luxury sedans.

By the early 1990s, the Lexus brand was expanded to other markets, including the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. More models were added to the lineup, including the SC 300 and SC 400 coupes and the brand's first luxury performance sedan, the GS 300. By decade's end, the company had added SUVs (in the form of the LX 450/LX 470 and RX 300) and had sold more than a million vehicles in the U.S.

The first decade of the 2000s saw Lexus proving itself a trend setter with the launch of many hybrid-powered versions of its vehicles such as the RX 400h and the GS 450h. And by 2011, Lexus even introduced a world-class supercar, the LFA.

In the years since its inception, the Lexus brand has distinguished itself time and again in quality and reliability surveys. The brand's vehicles may not offer as much passion as some Teutonic rivals, but for drivers interested in vehicles that emphasize quality, dependability and comfort, the Lexus marque is hard to beat.

  • Exceptional car. My wife and I love it so far. - 2015 Lexus RX 350

Best choice you could make. The Cadillac SRX had to many negative reviews or we most likely would have bought that for the savings, but no regrets at all.

Quiet, smooth, elegant, comfortable, solid, nice pick up, I dont need to feel contact with the road. Have driven Audi, BMW, Passat and Nissan and this is tops. No car is more reliable.

This car is definitely fun....Have a winter vehicle as when I asked what kind of snow tires the salesman just laughed. Its a real head turner as I find everyone staring.

  • Great and Fun car!!! - 2004 Lexus SC 430

The SC430 combines the quiet refined class of the "usual" Lexus product, when the top is up, with a fabulous open air experience, complete with subtly rumbling exhaust pipes and a totally cool interior. The total package is a great value..especially when compared with the "other" hardtop convertibles on the market. Try one....youll be convinced!!

  • A best buy - 2006 Lexus ES 330
    By -

This is my second Lexus ES. The car had decent acceleration but i found it lacking when merging into an expressway. Comfortable and quality.I bought a 2003 ES300 with 33,000 on it in 2008. I drove it for 30,000 with no mayor issues. The car was like new even though it was 5 years old when I bought it. The worse problem was that a mechanic at Lexus of North Miami sabotaged the AC system. Got angry when I complained he had not changed the AC cabin air filter after servicing the AC, which included the filter. A different dealer confirmed the AC had been purposely tinkered with and gave an estimate for $900. Took it back to Lexus of North Miami and service manager had it repaired for free. Car

  • Luxury Hybrid that actually saves fuel - 2010 Lexus HS 250H
    By -

Unlike some of its Lexus Hybrid siblings, the HS is actually saving fuel. Regular gas and 31MPG in luxury automobile is fantastic. The car drives well and has surprising get-up when mashing the pedal - perhaps a reason for my "low" MPGs. The look is quite and classy but with enough there to make you go hum? Think a Talbot suit with Victoria Secret undergarments.

  • This car is AMAZING! - 2003 Lexus IS 300
    By -

This car is absolutly incredible. The handling surpasses anything I have ever driven and makes BMWs handling a joke. I cant get over how wonderful it looks - both inside and out. Although the interior (dash) can have a few improvements made, the eye-catching chrome shift knob and gauges are very cool - especially at night when they glow orange. This car gets a 10 for fun to drive...there hasnt ever been a car ive owned which actually gives me a smile taking turns. 3 days after owning this car and ive already peeked inside my garage 10 times just to check on her...its beautiful. Im an extremely satisfied customer!
