Make Overview:

Lexus has earned a well-deserved reputation for turning out utterly refined luxury vehicles. The hallmarks of this brand are a quiet, well-crafted cabin, a plush ride and commendable performance from powerful, nearly silent engines.

Lexus began out of a desire by parent company Toyota to create a world-class luxury car brand. Groundwork for Lexus was laid in the mid-1980s, when the company began tapping U.S. focus groups in an attempt to define design concepts best suited for American consumers. Hundreds of prototypes were built and tested on Germany's autobahn and on U.S. roads.

In early 1989, the company unveiled its first two models (which would debut for the 1990 model year) -- the entry-level ES 250 sedan and the flagship LS 400 sedan. The LS 400 was lauded by both journalists and consumers alike for offering a stellar luxury-car experience, with a remarkably silent cabin, superb build quality and a refined V8 engine. At the same time, the LS was priced considerably lower than smaller, lesser-equipped, six-cylinder European rival luxury sedans.

By the early 1990s, the Lexus brand was expanded to other markets, including the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. More models were added to the lineup, including the SC 300 and SC 400 coupes and the brand's first luxury performance sedan, the GS 300. By decade's end, the company had added SUVs (in the form of the LX 450/LX 470 and RX 300) and had sold more than a million vehicles in the U.S.

The first decade of the 2000s saw Lexus proving itself a trend setter with the launch of many hybrid-powered versions of its vehicles such as the RX 400h and the GS 450h. And by 2011, Lexus even introduced a world-class supercar, the LFA.

In the years since its inception, the Lexus brand has distinguished itself time and again in quality and reliability surveys. The brand's vehicles may not offer as much passion as some Teutonic rivals, but for drivers interested in vehicles that emphasize quality, dependability and comfort, the Lexus marque is hard to beat.

  • This is my dream car - 2007 Lexus GX 470

Absolutely L-O-V-E everything about my new Lexus. GORGEOUS to look at and wonderful to drive. I had a Toyota Sequoia before (which I also loved) but this is an SUV that drives like a car - so smooth! Everyday I thank my husband for my new toy!

  • Awesome vehicle...... Love it!!!! - 2005 Lexus RX 330

The RX 330 is an awesome vehicle. Truly a Lexus. Comfortable, drives well. Love the gizmos in the car.

  • Overpriced Toyota - 2007 Lexus ES 350

Traded in 01 Merc E class. The Lexus rides very smoothly but understeers severely and feels boaty on curves. The ruby red paint quality is pitiful with the slightest impact even with such items as cardboard or plastic scratching the paint surface. The car was supposed to be a Lexus CPO but came with several problems including warped front brake rotors, dead batteries in key fob, floor board shimmy, unbalanced wheels and paint colored wax covering prior owners scratches which washed off during the first car wash. CPO may only be worth the warranty, the rest is a gimmick.

  • Where is the 35MPG touted? - 2010 Lexus HS 250H
    By -

Just been driving this car for 300 miles and have yet to see 35MPG. CVT is really noisy as you accelerate and not so smooth. The layout in ES350 is much better. There are missing buttons like AUDIO etc. No touch screen.

  • The Pebble Beach - 2004 Lexus SC 430
    By -

Great car and fun to drive! We picked up our Pebble Beach SC 430 from the dealer on the first weekend in October. It has plenty of power and the navigation system is fantastic. The ride is not as hard as we had heard. The suspension works well with the run flat tires. The color is awesome. The fit and finish is fantastic! The back seat works for us as luggage shelf and a place for our daughter to set on short drive. Thanks Lexus great car!!

  • Loving the ride - 2016 Lexus RX 350
    By -

Ive always wanted the Lexus RX 350. My intention was to get a 2015 with the old body style. My mind changed after I drove a new 2016!! This is truly a car of luxury. The handling is superb!! The trunk is perfect size. Back seat guests are comfortable. My only complaint is the gas mileage. I actually watch the gas tank drain down. Otherwise, its great!!

  • Luxury at its Best! - 2010 Lexus RX 350

I traded my 2005 RX for the 2010. The SUV is bigger inside and out. The technology is incredible in this car.

  • An Amazing piece of artwork - 2006 Lexus GS 300

Reading some of the reviews on here makes me wonder if some of these are real or not. This is an amazing car. Ive owned many cars and this is by far the best quality vehicle that I ever witnessed. Absolutely perfect in every way. Ive owned cars that were double the price and this is a better car. I am 6 4" tall and can fit in this car better than my previous full sized SUV. My head rubbed the roofline in my SUV, doesnt even come close in my GS.

The Bumper to Bumper value, feel of comfort , and "knowing you have no issues" feeling of purchasing this beautiful vehicle will give you goosebumps! I looked at Acura, Lincoln , and various Toyota SUVs ,But after driving all, researching , and using different metrics, i bought this 2015 F series 350RX.. The F series leather, the front bumper, the various F series clad chrome, and other special features will make other drivers look with awe!! Did I mention the fantastic Lexus warranty!?
