  • My favorite vehicle yet - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

It is quiet, like driving a big sofa, and quick-handling and powerful when you need it. Handles and corners well, with a very good turning radius. It is fun to drive and all of the controls and panel operations are intuitive and easy to use. The in-city mpg is more like 26 than the 31 advertised.

  • So far so good - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

Great car and fun to drive. Dont buy it if you are simply focused on gas mileage. My average after 3 months of regular driving is 24.2 MPG. Great for SUV but does not compare to Prius. Price tag is high but if you like gadgets this is the car for you.

I traded my 2001 Mercedes ML 330 for the Lexus 400h. What a great car. The ride and handling are great and on par with the Mercedes. Real world gas mileage is between 26 - 28. I have not owned the car long but absolutely no problems. I would definitely recommend this car to others. The other SUVs on the market have a lower base price but by the time you put the options on them to make them comparable the Lexus is not much more. Even the RX 330 is not much less with similar equipment plus the Feds give you a $2,000 tax deduction because of the hybrid technology and low emissions

  • love my lexus - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

I just got this 4 days ago, and I already love it. I traded a sedan that "REQUIRED" the highest octane fuel and love this gas effeciency - much better than my sedan, and loads better than my friends with SUVs, plus you dont have to give up luxury.

  • A New Driving Experience - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

After 10 months of driving the RX 400h I am sold on this car. I previously owned a non-hybrid Lexus RX 300 and the hybrid is so much more powerful and fun to drive. I am averaging 26 mpg which is more than adequate for the size and weight of this car. The challenge is to see how far you can coast on battery power in order to increase your mileage. This takes a light foot on acceleration as well as easy breaking. As with my 6 previous Lexus automobiles, this car has required no servicing to date and should prove to be very reliable. The acceleration is more like a V8 due to the combination of electric motors and gas engine. Weve been to the mountains and had no problems on the hills.

  • Incredible Car (even ignoring the MPG) - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

This car has a certain aspect of guilty pleasure. It is looks beautiful, is incredibly designed, has amazing pick up and performance, and is one of the most advanced technology infrastructures that I have seen. Then you get to that fact that I dont feel guilty at all, it is a hybrid, gets mileage of around 30 MPG, and has incredibly low emmisions. I am still trying to figure out what the rub is.

Probably the most powerful car Ive ever owned. The powerful feel of acceleration is just a bit scary at first as it is unexpected. This is a real luxury car with all the goodies. I wanted a hybrid, but declined the lightweight and somewhat flimsy feel of the other vehicles on the market.

  • My Mileage has been great - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

I have read plenty of the consumer reviews, and seen plenty of people disappointed with the MPG. Not me. I live in Chicago and do a fair combination of highway/city driving combo to to/from work, and I have got no less than 29 mpg per tank. I can usually get 450+ miles out of every fill up. Granted I have changed my driving habits a bit so that I can utilize the electric motor more, but I get to work at the same time, so I am not going any slower. I am really pleased with the vehicle since I have a VW Passat as well and this gets about 5-6 mpg better with more room (a lot of baby stuff), the higher driving experience (see the road better), outstanding features, and more oomph (for passing).

  • Perfect All Purpose Vehicle - 2006 Lexus RX 400H

This is the best car Ive ever owned regardless of price. Its quick, smooth and extremely solid. Im getting over 25 mpg on my first tank of gas driving at normal speeds on both highway and city. This is a great vehicle.

I used to have a ML 500 I filled up 3x a week (56 Gallons) , with the RX400 1 time (15 gallons) . Much more comfortable, Power is very good. Had to get used to no gear shifts, moves well to 110mph. For the price cant be beat.
