Best used car value - 1995 Lexus LS 400
By Clyde Bailey - December 31 - 11:26 amThis has been an amazing car. It has not given me the first problem, I have been a Lexus driver ever since. My daughter is still driving it today!

Beautiful, Excellent and Boring - 2000 Lexus LS 400
By cecurr - December 28 - 12:26 amI bought preowned in 2005 with 65,000 miles on it. The car is beautiful in every way. I since put 13000 mile on it and I must confess that this is an excellent car. Not even one minor problem to date. Interior comfort and appointments are outstanding in layout and function. Seats are roomy and can be easily adjusted to you favorite comfort position. Leg room is enough for the 6+ footer in front or rear seats. Build quality is also outstanding. The cabin is not as quiet as I had hoped and heard, with noticeable road noise, especially on concrete highway surfaces. The car drives so well though, it is almost boring to drive. Heavy front-end pushes.

The envy of all other manufacturers... - 1999 Lexus LS 400
By CloudNine - December 8 - 4:16 amThis is my second LS-400. Prior car was a 92 model. 98-00 version has many improvements over earlier models. VVTi, 5-speed trans, far more European feel overall. Nakamichi audio is only bested by newer Mark Levinson system. Seats are quite firm but offer excellent support. Onboard trip computer is fun to toy with. Excellent fuel economy for a 3900-lb. vehicle, ranging as high as 33mpg on straight highway runs. Averaging 23 overall (mostly city). Only use genuine Toyota T-IV fluid when servicing the trans! Keep the oil clean and the 1UZ-FE engine should last forever. Styling has aged very gracefully. Still attracts attention even though 10 years old. HID headlamps excel. Pleased overall.

Peace of Mind - 1995 Lexus LS 400
By cojrpoet - December 3 - 4:06 pmIn the 13 years I have had this car, I have spent only 2000 on repairs and that too in its 13th year. The car needs minimal maintenance and after 13 years of hard driving in heat and snow, it still feels like a new car.

Great Marketing Car, Comfort and Quiet - 2000 Lexus LS 400
By Road Warrior - November 26 - 7:06 amTook this car out for a 1 hour test drive to make sure I would like it. This car performs like a sports car but is way more comfortable and is so quiet it makes cell phone calls sound like your in your office. For the price I paid this was a deal it will last up to 400k miles with proper care. Lexus makes cars that last, so buy one and you will make a good investment !

Excellent, comfortable car - 1999 Lexus LS 400
By micahberry - November 11 - 5:25 pmExcels on the interstate, where it absorbs pavement irregularities superbly. It is a comfortable traveling car for my family. This is not a back road burner – the LS400 features a lot of body roll, which is to be expected as part of the design. You will be hard pressed to find a more comfortable long-range cruising car. I purchased this car with 113k miles. As of this writing, it has 140k. I have had to replace the starter, which I have learned through owner’s forums is a wearable item. In addition, rubber suspension bushings on the car should be replaced to keep the incredible Lexus ride. Thankfully, they don’t need to be replaced but once every 10 years or so!

SUPER RELIABILITY & COMFORT - 2000 Lexus LS 400
By Steve C. - November 10 - 6:43 amBought pre-owned @ 3 yr. old but with only 6800 miles. Have since pumped up to 56k. Now 9 yrs. old and have not put a single penny into it beyond maintenance. Drive is uninspiring around town but a champ on the highway. Cruises with uncanny smoothness. A true luxury ride with exceptional quietness. Blah, grandpa-like exterior (and who designed the ugliest alloy wheels ever?) but interior is attractive and plush. I probably wont but could keep car for another 15 years and it would still be an enjoyable ride. A bit jumpy off the mark. Even if you try to moderate throttle it tends to leap off line. Surprisingly fuel efficient on hwy (up to 28 mph) but premium a must. Mileage suffers otherwise.

242k miles and running strong - 2000 Lexus LS 400
By GSO Lexus - October 27 - 3:10 pmThis is the best car I have ever owned - far superior to Mercedes vehicles I have had in the past. Bought it new and it runs great and still does not burn oil after 242k miles. Spark plugs lasted over 150k miles and first battery lasted 12 +years. The vehicle is rust free after 17 years in the northeast, where they love to salt the roads. Only negative about this car is the traction is not good in snow - otherwise the greatest car I have ever owned.
