Awesome Car/Awesome value - 1995 Lexus LS 400
By carfanatic9 - April 25 - 8:42 pmI bought this Lexus LS400 from a small lot. Wasnt in the best shape, but good enough. With a some TLC, i got her running like a top. A few small problems, one the a/c doesnt blow very hard, the trunk is smaller than what one would expect, the 6 disc changer. Other than that, there are no real problems to speak of. The 4.0L DOHC engine is a dream! Even at 240,000+ mi. Once you get on the highway, sustained triple digit speed is not a problem. Passing, also not a problem. Independent rear makes mountain passes a dream. All it takes is regular maintenance. I recommend Synthetic oil, for oil changes. Great car would def recommend. Would get another, but why? This ones gonna last forever!

"Tis a True Review" - 1999 Lexus LS 400
By rnovaq71 - April 10 - 2:00 amThis is some vehicle; I traded a 2000 Audi A6 Bi-Turbo for this 1999 Lexus LS400 w/42,000 miles. Lets start w/power; this car is a monster thats always under control ! The interior satisfaction is superb, its 1st class 100%! Plus everthing works in perfect harmony! All controls & gadgets are placed w/in the access of driver or passenger. The exterior is flawless! No rattles, no sqweeks, no noise, just listen to the symphonic Lexus sound system. Even the CD-changer is above the glove box. Read all the reviews on the 1999 LS 400 ! In an un-perfect world it is truely the perfect vehicle !

33 year old view - 1999 Lexus LS 400
By esanjose - February 26 - 2:00 amI narrowed my new car choice to the Infiniti G35 Sedan. However, the dealer had a 1999 LS400 on the lot. After test driving the G35 and the 1999 LS400, I was hooked on the LS400. My wife even agreed that the used Lexus felt more secure than the new G35 Sedan. I would label it a european sports sedan with top ratings in comfort, security, handling, and acceleration.

1995 LS 400 (UCF20 chassis) - 1995 Lexus LS 400
By BC - February 19 - 7:33 pmThis is one of the best engineered and built cars on the road. I have 250,000 trouble free miles on my LS 400 with original engine/tranny. The engine and tranny combo are a true "match made in heaven" - both are stunningly quiet and smooth almost to the point of being nonexistent. Accelerating conservatively in the city returns 20mpg and expect north of 26mpg on the freeway. Testing the 4.0 frequently returns 16+ mpg. The reason I scored the LS so low in the comfort level is because of the seat design and lack of head and legroom, but I am 64. Overall, I give my LS 400 an A- rating. I definitely plan on buying another. Excellent work Lexus!!!

Outstanding Car - 1996 Lexus LS 400
By roadrunner - December 11 - 10:03 amJoy to own. Ride comfort and handling are superb. We love it. It is Mr. Reliable. Road trips are great in this car. Maintenance costs are more but has not been much more than a normal car. MPH: 22-27. 2 years ago, as I was traveling down a 2-lane road, a car entered my lane coming fast & directly toward me. I was going 60 mph. I cut the steering wheel sharply to at least a 45-degree angle to get out of the lane & toward the ditch. I turned the car sharply to the left down the shoulder. The car was still in my lane as I passed it. Emergency maneuverability: superb.

Like driving a stick of butter..... - 1998 Lexus LS 400
By gstrid - November 16 - 10:00 amIf you want to test the side restraints of bucket seats, want a hard solid ride, with plenty of conrtol, and want to throw your passengers around, buy a BMW or a Mercedes. If you want an economy Lexus, buy an Infinity. If you total road stability with an exceptionally smooth ride, buy a Lexus sedan. We test drove the four above mentioned flagship models when they were three years old, and bought the Lexus. Its not very quick off the line, but when it gets rolling, it flies. It doesnt corner as rigidly as a BMW or Mercedes, but it handles (especially changing gears) much smoother. The seats are by far more comfortable. Long drives are effortless.

Survivor Story - 1999 Lexus LS 400
By Alive!!! - October 5 - 10:00 amThe best thing one can say about this vehicle is that it ALWAYS lived up to the hype, even in a major accident. I was hit by a full-size SUV, who ran a red light at 55 MPH, no skid marks. I am 6 7" and I walked away. The car was totalled, but it did its job. The safety cage around the passenger compartment held completely - not even a tear in the leather! The roof did not buckle - with the sunroof open! I will never own another make of vehicle.
