Nearly flawless - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By wjohnstone74 - November 15 - 12:59 amAfter owning 7 North American automobiles (4 of them brand new), I cant believe I am about to complain about my Lexus - just nit-picky stuff really. Reliability wise, the car has been flawless. I have 138,000km on it and the only issue I have had was a hole in each side of the stainless steel exhaust pipe right before the secondary cat converters. This was a $1400 repair, so I got a local muffler shop to weld on two 1 foot sections of pipe and now its fine. Except that they fried an o2 sensor on me while welding. I have the creaks and rattles in the dash like everyone else. That is annoying. Also, the tranny seems lost when feathering the throttle below 20km/h.

Almost Perfect - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Lance - October 23 - 10:40 amOne of the reasons why I love this car is the styling. It is bold, while still maintaining its GS heritage. First thing you notice when you get inside is the abundance of luxurious materials. Leather is smooth and steering wheel is a dream to hold. Navigation with backup camera is absolutely necessary as visibility is impossible out the back and parking sensors add even more convenience. High performance tires wear out under 25k miles and will be pricey to replace. At 6 feet tall, it fits just right, but any taller and Id be against the roof. Trunk is spacious, but opening is small and trunk springs make it a struggle to close. Need a real trunk closer/opener.

Awesome car - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Debbie - September 26 - 3:53 amIm a repeat Lexus customer. Love the new GS 300 for many reasons including the ride, comfort, smart key and gas mileage. Excellent car for highway travel with regards to quiet ride and comfort. In my opinion, Lexus has a winner in the new GS series. Dont listen to the critics, go try out this car for yourself; youll see why Im pleased with my decision to purchase another Lexus product.

Nice ride - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Anthony - August 24 - 1:20 amSmooth ride, very comfortable, luxury feeling in all aspects. I love all of the state of the art options (smartkey, navi, rear camera, ac & heated seats, auto wipers, push start, etc.), its like all you have to do is sit down and drive. The fuel economy was surprising, I consistently take weekend trips of 220+ miles and on the highway i can avg up to 30+ mpg. Only complaint is the expensive little fixes, HID headlight bulbs cost $430 at the dealership, FOR A LIGHT BULB!

Retirement Gift! - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Jerry - August 12 - 2:43 pmI test drove most of the sedans priced between 45 and 50K. To me, the Lexus GS 300 drove the smoothest. I was impressed with its acceleration, fuel economy, ride and the responsive steering. My GS 300 is loaded. Something I did not plan on... but am totally satisfied with it.

What a finely tuned machine - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By eyekutr - July 5 - 4:00 pmThis vehicle is put together amazingly well. The audio / climate and other controls are so amazingly intuitive abd easy to use, it is amazing. The performance is awesome, excellent acceleration, fwy passing 50-80, cornering, brakes. It is so quiet at 85 that the audio could be set at 1/5th of max and still be nicely heard. The 3rd gen GS is the finest car for the money.

The Best Car Ive Ever Owned - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Thom - June 5 - 2:53 pmIve had this car for about 2 years and I still look forward to the next time I get to drive it. I enjoy how the footlights and interior lights glow when I approach the car at night. The keyless entry is great. I just have to grab the handle and the car unlocks. The ride is so smooth and refined. The brakes are great. I especially like the feature that notices if you jam on the brakes and gives you an accelerated braking response. The Mark Levinson sound system is like a home theater. The DVD capability of the nav screen is nice if you have to wait in the car for someone. The engine idles so quietly and smoothly that once in the while I need to check the RPM gauge to see if its on.

Best Luxury Sedan - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Patrick - May 13 - 7:43 pmI had this car for a couple of months and I love it. I actually test drove several vehicles, Infiniti, Acura, and Audi to compare from several perspectives and chose the Lexus GS 300 AWD. I had the dealership change the tires to 18" Michelin Pilot® Sport A/S tires in place of the Goodyear run flat tires and what a difference in ride and handling. This car is fully loaded and the Mark Levinson 14 speaker Audio system is great. I am completely satisfied with this car. This car is an eye-catcher and it delivers on demand.

Lexus GS 300 Owner Review - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By s. townsend - April 25 - 8:53 pmThis is my fifth Lexus and my third GS 300. I have owned several luxury cars (Mercedes, BMW, Volvo) and none compare to the quality and lack of problems and issues to the Lexus line. I prefer the rear wheel drive and thus continue to choose the GS 300. The 6 cylinder engine is more than sufficient to create power when needed. The 400 is simply a waste of money. The car is quiet, comfortable, sporty and a joy to drive.

Lexus for Life - 2006 Lexus GS 300
By Rosa M - March 25 - 10:50 pmI previously owned a GS 300 in 1995. I absolutely loved the car, but could not afford to keep it after going through a divorce. I always remembered the smooth quite ride and the way the car handled. I have owned 2 Mercedes Benz between 1999 and 2006 and decided to purchase a Lexus in 2006 when the body style changed. It is fully loaded... with the exception of the satellite radio ( I did not like the antenna on the trunk of the car). I absolutely LOVE this car and will never purchase another Mercedes Benz.
