A new engine has been fitted -- a 3.3-liter V6 -- and, consequently, the car formerly known as the ES 300 is now badged the ES 330. Besides the newfound power, Lexus' entry-level luxury sedan gains additional content upgrades for 2004, including a memory function for the adjustable pedals, improved navigation system features, power lumbar adjustment for the front-passenger seat, larger side airbags and a maintenance indicator light.

By Jeson - November 5 - 2:00 amJust bought ES330 and sold 96 Avalon. Disagree ES330=Camry comment. What I compared here is top equipped 96 Avalon vs. top equipped ES330. Here is something I didnt expect: 1. accelerate from 0 to normal is not strong as expected, or even slower than my Avalon. 2. Related with 1, the gas mileage is much better than Avalon (33-35 in highway and 26 in city, is it a problem for the particular car or for a new car?). 3. The 4th generation Navigation System is impressive, it is the item you MUST have. It is not only an elegant GPS mapping and road information system, it also makes everything easy to control: Audio, Radio, CD, etc.

Beware of 2004 Transmission - 2004 Lexus ES 330
By ces2 - November 5 - 2:00 amI purchased an ES330 based on the Lexus reputation. The transmission hesitates when changing gears. Lexus states the transmission is OK and there is nothing they can do about the hesitation in shifting gears. So much for Lexus quality.

By michelle - August 11 - 3:30 amThis is my second Lexus. I first had the IS 300 and was looking for a car that handled the snow better. So far my ES 330 has not been a disappointment. I feel safe in this car and I also feel that due to the superior braking ability that this car had saved my life. The fuel economy is great considering the weight of the car. The car is also very quiet and solid with no loose parts that rattle when driving. I also love my rear sun shade that keeps the sun glare out of my car when sunny it also keeps my car cool on hot days.

Buying the Lexus I stepped up in build quality, comfort, reliability and performance, plus I kept $25,000 in my pocket! You cant beat Lexus for those qualities, and after three MBenzs I was tired of mechanical problems after 40,000 miles.
