  • Best bang for the buck - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

I tried nearly all of the top 10 cross- over vehicles before purchasing the 2011 Sorento. I felt that the Sorento was by far the best overall value for the money and I still feel the same way after driving it for 3 months. I got the V6 EX AWD pretty much loaded, (NAV, voice activated controls, premium sound system, leather, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, 3rd row seating) and to make a similarly equipped purchase from any other maker would have cost me nearly $10K more. Plenty of power, nice ride, comfortable interior, responsive handling, and very respectable mileage for a V6 AWD. Only time will test out the reliability but the best-in-class warranty should help with that

Just purcahsed this vehicle this week and I have to say I never thought about Kia. I wanted a new 4Runner, but I could not get any kind of deal, but sticker plus. I was on the way home when I remembered that the Sorento redisgn for 2011 was to be released so I stop in and took one for a test drive. I am on the road about 40k miles a year for work and need a functional vehicle which will allow me to carry some samples and equipment. The one thing I love about this CUV is that it is large. I opted for the stogage in the back and no third row seating option. I have the 4 cylinder and will average about 24-25 in mixed driving. There are a lot of options for your money, great value. 0%/48.2.9%/60

  • Good SUV but not on Fuel - 2011 Kia Sorento

I must state that overall my wife is very happy with her new car. Though, I am not since the gas mileage is nothing near HWY EPA. Sorento is underpowered with AWD and has averaged 20.5 mpg the last couple of weeks. We took it on a 300 mile trip through hill country Branson, MO and the gas mileage was terrible. Dont buy 4 cyl if you have hills. Get the V6, it seems to get the same gas mileage. Aside from poor gas mileage, interior amenities are top notch. Nice to have 3rd row and back up camera. Seats are comfortable but a bottom cushion is a bit awkward, try it out for a while first. Car looks good and price was great. Super quiet..much more than CR-V.

  • Totally Suprised - 2011 Kia Sorento

The Sorentos price, features, and ride totally amazes me! I wasnt even LOOKING at Kias! Stopped to look at a used Edge on the lot, and Don (salesmen) asked if Id considered a Sorento. As he described features not standard on other models I was looking at he got my attention! I bought a 4 cyl. for the mpg which is much better than my Saturn Vues manual. The ride is VERY car like, The cabin is SO quiet. Even the blinker and blower motor are quiet! And the satellite radio and blue tooth are luxurys Id have never looked for, but seem indispensable now! It was the fifth SUV I drove (on a list of four) and I could not be happier. Even the sales experience- Was FUN! A+++ Kia!

  • Great car at a great price! - 2011 Kia Sorento

I really wanted a loaded Highlander Hybrid, but it was way out of our price range. A client tipped me off on the 2011 Kia Sorento. Im so glad he did. The Sorento SX had almost everything I wanted in the Highlander for $15K less. And you cant beat the warranty either. It was a "cant lose" purchase! My husband and I both drive it as it is the main car we use to drive our toddler around in. Weve had it for almost 6 months now and its been a great SUV for in town and long road trips. Im also very happy with the service from both Kia dealerships I have been to in Portland and Beaverton.

  • Solid vehicle, great pricing used. - 2011 Kia Sorento

We purchased our Pacific blue LX 2.4L with 43k on the odometer. Since that time, weve only had very minor issues. The factory battery went bad at 48K, and now with 81K the sway bars need to be replaced which were cheap to order. I use the vehicle as my company car (contractor) and it now has 81K on it. The factory brakes are still about 30-40%. Its been an incredibly reliable machine, and its used on and off road and down Amish township roads daily. Tough, durable, and reliable, and cheap to obtain too.

  • Great Kia Sorento - 2011 Kia Sorento

I cant believe I own a Kia Sorento, but I do. It is Made in the USA (Georgia) in a brand new plant. It has good fuel economy and nice features. 3rd row seating in the event you need it. I did not want to buy a minivan and I did not want a huge American SUV. The Kia Sorento is the perfect solution, especially the price is great too. I am not a snob, but I have only owned MBZ, Porsche, Lexus, and Toyota in the past. Kia is very new for me, but so far, so good. Great value for the money. Just go buy one, dont be shy, gets better gas mileage than most vehicles in its class.

  • My wife and I are in love... with our Kia Sorento SX! - 2011 Kia Sorento

My wife and I are extremely happy with our white pearl 2011 Kia Sorento SX. The V6 engine is best in class and doesnt chug gas so long as you drive conservatively mixed city/hwy. We had looked at the Mazda CX-9 but it was too large, expensive, and thirsty on the gas. The Sorento on the other hand is the perfect size for many families and a great value, even in its top-of-the-line SX trim. The dual flow damper shocks on the SX give the car a sporty ride thats only occasionally jittery on rough roads. This car is seriously one of the best buys we have made in a long while. I would highly, highly recommend it.

  • Two Warnings - 2011 Kia Sorento

I bought my 2011 Sorento with 18k on it in 2013. It has been a great car for the past three years. This year it was at just over 90k. I have always done everything I am supposed to. Plus I am a slow accelerator, typically I cruise at 2000 RPM in the city and 2500 on the highway not passing 3000 during acceleration. Then last month I heard a god awful metal sheering sound and the car skidded to a halt. Had it towed to the mechanic and was told the cylinder tubes had corroded and the cylinder heads were shifting and scraping the sides and that the engine could no longer be started. Cost for a used engine with the same amount of miles is right around $4500. If I want a re-manufactured one it is even more. Warranty is not an option because it cancels at 5/60 on used purchases. What is worse to me is a I still owe $14k. I did some research and it looks like this is a common problem in 2011 and 2012 Sorentos. I had planned on buying a Kia again in the future but I think I will stick to brands I have had good experiences with. I dont know if I will repair it at some point or turn it into a $14k paper weight. I would steer clear!

  • Sock Monkey! Sorento rules! - 2011 Kia Sorento

Had a very difficult time finding an EX AWD with V6 and Luxury package (navigation) with Premium pack 2 (Sunroof). But finally after 3 weeks dealer located and got us our beautiful Black Cherry Sorento. Trading from a 2007 Mazda CX-9 with all the trimmings. Find the Kia a better value than all other SUVs in this class. Heated leather, Voice/touch screen navigation, Bluetooth, Ipod, 11 speaker 550w Infinity sound system, rear seat sunroof, Sirius/xm radio, rear camera with backup sensors, interior mood lighting, dual climate control. All in a fun, fresh new style. Drove 600 miles through VT mountains and averaged 22.3 mpg.
