The LX model is now available with a sport package that includes a new five-speed manual transmission, side step bars, Michelin tires, alloy wheels, roof rack, leather-wrapped steering wheel and keyless entry. A two-tone gray interior color scheme is also new, and metallic interior accents replace last year's wood grain accents.

  The kia sorento is a wonderful car to own and drive. It is big enough to haul things in, yet small enough so you do not feel like you are driving a tank. The ride is smooth. It handles excellent. My overall rating is a 10! I drove a lot of other vehicles before choosing the Kia Sorento. I have owned over the years, a volkswagen, 2 chevys, a dodge, a ford, a mazda and 2 other kias. The warranty itself is a plus. I chose the Sorento because I believe it was the best overall value.

  KIA not ready for prime time - 2004 Kia Sorento

  While we DO like our Sorento, we have had nothing but bad luck with the Kia dealership. Every time something goes wrong it has to be ordered from Korea! They didnt even have brake pads at the dealership and had to check at Kragen. The following things have failed already: Front differential leaked, CD player, front struts, cruise control. Rear springs are shot, but they claim vehicle abuse and wont replace. We have only had the truck out to desert for very light off-roading once, but we do have a 270 foot rough dirt driveway. (The 3 Series BMW seems to be able to handle it though). The truck is a nice for grocery shopping, but suspension not suitable for real 4X4 activity.

  This vehicle has been great. I travel alot 39,000 miles in first year. Get oil changed every 3000-4000 miles. I have had no problems at all.

  it looks like an rx300, inside and out, the ex luxury pkg and antilock brakes are a must..this gives you leather and awd,,ive been getting 22 mpg highway..thats maybe 1to2 mpg less than the lexus.but i paid 10,000 less...Nothing has gone wrong.only little gripe.stereo needs more power(its good, just needs a larger amp)and the steering wheel audio control needs a volume control.Did well in last winters snow..love my car...........

  I have a dilemma.I love my manual transmission Sorento too much and it is aging. I bought it new in Feb 05 and have about 200000km on it. It pulls the 15 boat and loaded double snowmobile trailer.The guys are impressed that I am always right behind them on any trips.I have had a few of the problems others mentioned (coolant bottle leak, head lights burn out, fuel gauge fluctuates, occasionally speedo and cruise cut out) but nothing major.It is manual and as with other manuals I have had 2nd is getting stiff to shift into especially when the engine is not well warmed up.I am considering replacing it due to age/mileage and cant find another manual SUV with all the features I want. Ieeee!

  Looks great, love all the options, but would never buy again! Too many major mechanical problems! 40,000 miles I have almost a whole brand new engine. The radio display went, new radio. New power steering rack, new driveshaft. And now the recall of the part that I have already replaced once. The paint is also peeling is some spots!
