Overview & Reviews
The 2001 Jeep Wrangler gets a number of improvements. All models benefit from a new four-ply soft top that reduces wind and road noise at speed. Deep tint windows are now standard on the Sahara hardtop and optional on Sport and SE models with the solid-shell roof. Two new center console designs are available on all models, as is a premium subwoofer. The add-a-trunk feature and removable side steps have been redesigned to improve functionality, and a new instrument cluster, low-pivot steering column, rearview mirror, airbag cutoff switch, child seat-tether anchors, and multifunction headlight/wiper stalk are standard across the entire model line. The ABS system is upgraded; intermittent windshield wipers are now standard, and the 4.0-liter inline six now meets LEV requirements in all 50 states. Sienna Pearl Coat, Amber Fire and Steel Blue exterior colors have been added, while Medium Fern Green and Desert Sand have been dropped.
- Cheap, fun to drive, classic styling, go-anywhere capability.
- Soft top can be tricky to operate, difficult entry/egress, slow steering, limited storage space.

JEEP WRANGLER*****EXCELLENT - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By atlaw - April 14 - 10:00 amStylish & priced right, this is the solid, trouble free status symbol that you can afford. The Wrangler turns the heads of Mercedes convertible owners and horseback riders. The reputation is backed up--Ive needed not one warranty adjustment or repair in 30,000 miles. Everything works, and works well, and everyone you meet wants one.

Its a Jeep Thing - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By Scott3249 - January 26 - 9:43 pmGot this Wrangler in July of 2001 after my 98 Wrangler got total. Was surprise at the improvements to the top. Great SUV, not gonna win any MPG awards, but hey its a Jeep. Ive put close to 90k miles on it and just replaced the radiator, was my fault for not flushing it out. Has been been a great jeep.

never apologize it is a Jeep - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By geb brown - December 20 - 2:00 amI live in rural Southwest-it gets me thru the monsoons in summer-snows in winter-across the rocks anytime I want to take a shortcut home and always starts when I need it. It is reliable and fun-I could buy any car I wanted- but this is Jeep and Truck country and thats just the way we want it. P.S. Keep your hi-lift auto zone princess jeeps in Phoenix or Las Vegas where you both belong.

Not to bad so far - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By Pennst - October 27 - 10:00 amI got this Jeep about a year and a half ago. Im sure I am not the only one experiancing a little rust around the hinges, thats about it. Ride quality is o.k.. I marked gas mileage a 2, I think a 1 would be reserved for the H2. I really like it, never any problems with the Chicago winters. The only thing is that the stock GS-a tires arent to good in the snow.

jeep 2001 - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By ludovico - October 21 - 10:00 amI like my Jeep because it is reliable and fun to drive. It performs exceptionally well off road. The downside is the four cylinder is sluggish at times going up a steep grade on a roadway. A solid vehicle otherwise.

good car/not so good gas mileage - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By bandy - June 20 - 2:00 amsolid car but guzzles gas. Love driving it but not good if you have kids because theres not enough room. Great for singles and teenagers. Trustworthy car that youll love to drive.

Die before buying a Wrangler. - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By James Qwilleran - March 25 - 10:00 amWe cannot stand this unacceptable car. It is extremely uncomfortable, breaks down often, has cheap interior materials, ghastly fuel economy, and we could go on and on.

2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport - 2001 Jeep Wrangler
By sheissekopf - October 13 - 10:00 amIt must be a Jeep thing. When I bought mine new, I was a little concerned about long trips, but August of 2001 it went on an 1800 mile trip to Canada and back, drove from Southeast PA to Northern Maine in one day, and the ride was better than our 2003 Toyota Matrix. When the weather warms up, you cant beat taking the top down, and in the snow, you just cant stop these things (and Ive tried)
