Overview & Reviews
A reengineered 4.0-liter PowerTech inline six-cylinder that is more refined and quiet, with reduced emissions, is standard for Sport and Sahara for 2000. Shift quality kicks up a notch, thanks to an all-new five-speed manual transmission. A radio/cassette combo with four speakers is now standard for the Sport, and the Sahara gains a radio/CD. Solar Yellow, Patriot Blue and Silverstone are additional exterior colors.
- Cheap, fun to drive, go-anywhere capability.
- Interior noise with soft top, difficult to operate soft top.

The Lego car - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By cbb - July 20 - 10:00 amThis car is great, if you are willing to sacrifice comfort for an extremely fun car. Its a bumpy ride (but much better than the older models) that doesnt handle well at high speeds (75+MPH). I switch my hard doors for cloths ones and have switched the full top for a half top for the summer. There is very little you cant do with this car. It would make a great second car however its my only one and works fine for me.

jeeps are fun but noisy - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By fatman - December 12 - 2:00 amthe jeep is fun to drive, stock models can go almost anywhere and there are many aftermarket items that allow you to make your Jeep look and perform just the way you want it to.

Its a Jeep Thing! - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By Brbnkseaj - February 28 - 4:43 pmOther than having the check engine light come on the day I drove it off the lot, my Jeep has never had to be repaired for anything that wasnt self-inflicted. I am amazed at how much abuse it can take when I go off-roading. It is very fun to drive, and easy to customize. There are downsides, though. You really need to buy aftermarket security products if you have a soft top. My original soft top made a LOT of noise on the highway and when it was windy, and it wore out after five years. But I replaced it with a sailcloth top, which was easy to install and pretty quiet when driving under 60mph. It is also tricky to drive on the highway, especially in the rain. Good tires are a must.

awesome vehicle - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By manollo3 - December 16 - 10:00 amAfter many years I finally bought me the 4.0L, straight 6 cylinder about 2 month ago as a first car. After having sports cars and sedans all the time it was time to have some fun as long as there is no family. Guess I will keep this vehicle as long as possible as it is so much fun and no comparison to our SUVs. Even on long distances (Dallas- Miami) it is a lot of fun and the seat are very supportive.

Solid Wrangler - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By jeep00 - May 18 - 2:00 amThe 2000 6 cyl version has the 190hp (before this was 180hp) engine which has good acceleration and excellent torque. This yr. also allows you to turn off the pass. side airbag. Overall, good engine reliability. Ave. mileage is 18 mpg. Had it back to the dealership 3X for a water leak which dripped down in the driver side area near the pedals. Still not fixed...

Great fun - 2000 Jeep Wrangler
By rvdown - November 4 - 10:00 amI wouldnt recommend this to anyone who has to drive it all the time (fuel economy and bumpy ride) but its great to take out every now and then. I love the convertible aspect, sitting high like a truck but whipping into parking spaces, and the noise (especially in 1st gear) makes me feel like I own the road.
