This Year's Model Updates:

An AM/FM/CD stereo and a tilt steering wheel are now standard on all 2004 Jeep Wrangler models. A new aluminum wheel design is standard on Sahara models and optional on Sport models. Right-hand-drive versions are also available for fleet utility service. A Columbia Edition option package is also new for 2004.

Pros:
  • Cheap, fun to drive, classic styling, go-anywhere capability.
Cons:
  • Soft top a handful to manipulate, difficult ingress-egress, slow steering, bouncy suspension on the street.

people that dont own wranglers are doubtful - doubtful that a convertible is warm enough in the winter - well, its been in the negative temps for two weeks straight and i can honestly tell you, my jeep starts every morning and takes less time than our other vehicles to warm up. people are doubtful they are safe - we live in the snow belt of upstate new york, it is very rare, in fact i have never seen a jeep wrangler in a ditch, usually it is the wrangler pulling another vehicle out. i am 40 years old and have owned two wranglers, i will never be happy without one.

I love my Jeep, Yes it is noisy expect that, but I am a sales rep so I dont have alot of passengers. If you are looking for the Jeep that is a smooth quiet ride the wrangler is not a good choice---I have had a Jeep Wrangler for the last 6 years and love it. This is a very fun car and very safe...I had an accident with a brand new lexus, $47,000 in damage to their car and I think $6,000 damage to my Jeep.

Overall is a great Jeep! I enjoy having the top and doors off during the summer. Its good on gas and has good power. The ride is very good for a jeep as many friends told me. It has great power and very good on gas. Great car for the outdoor type!

Great stock but better with 4 inch suspension lift, 6 KC lights, and 33X12.50 mud terrains. We bought it used with 2,000 miles on it. Use it everyday and even in mud holes on the weekends. Once we get a "family" SUV were going to keep adding on. Its a Jeep thing, some people will never really understand.

I test drove the wrangler X 5 speed and found it to be civilized enough as a daily driver. Driving this jeep here in Southern Ca., I noticed that other jeep owners would wave at me, this is neat, and the classic round headlights make the Wrangler look real classy. The new heavy duty 5 speed manual transmission feels quite substantial ( a little industrial grade), and the clutch is nice and light for this vehicle. The biggest surprise for me, which is beyond expectation is the fuel economy. I get 19 mpg on a 35 mile round trip on mixed highway / city drive with speeds less than 65 mph.

Bought this used Jeep with only 13,000 miles. The ride is very soft and seems to sway from side to side more than other cars. Avg 21 mpg on and off road combo. AC works very well and the heater is unreal. In 20 degree weather, the heater was blowing hot air in less than half mile! Have not tested the Jeeps ability to get agressive offroad, but on moderate trails, it has no problems. On the fly to 4wd is a piece of cake, but you need to be stopped or at 2 mph for 4wdLow. The turning radius is really small. Combo CD and radio with rear speakers is quite nice, but the volumn must really be increased at highway speeds. Hardly use 5th gear unless on level road at 65+

Love the Jeep and dual top group, easy to work on and with the lockers this thing will go anywhere. Lifted it up 6" and added some 35" tires. The new suspension lift actually makes it ride better than stock. The Rubicon is the model to buy. Love the 7 speaker sound system.
