  • Sofia is a great vehicle!! so far so good!! - 2016 Jeep Renegade

I have a 2016 Omaha Orange Renegade Trailhawk, i purchase at the end of February. So far i love this vehicle, i love the funky style, interior, and electronics. I have owned Mitsu for 25 years, and have an Outlander, which is awesome, and i love it. i sold my other Mitsu to my sister, and wanted another, but only limited to Outlander or sport in USA. so sad.:( So i looked, drove and reviewed all the information and criticism of the Renegade, so i wait a year, until all the little problems were fixed, such as the key fobs, brakes, engine and transmission(shame on the usa uaw workers, poor quality at the start), but all seems good on the 2016;s, It is a good vehicle, and i hope i have lots of fun with it.

researched before I bought, lots of things the salesman had no idea about yet because it was so new, but I knew. Love to drive it, people love to look at it, I actually have the 2.4L 9 speed auto 4x4 Latitude but that was not an option in the drop down only the limited had it on my choices here so I picked the limited but I actually have the latitude. I wanted a trailhawk but the reviews turned me off with the interior noise, rougher ride and gas mileage so I fell comfortably into a latitude. The design is awesome inside and out, interior is convenient and roomy for a small suv. I got the sand color and love it, lighter in person than on the web site.

I bought a 2017 desert hawk thinking that it would be great for snow and would at least hold strong residual value. Im blown away by how nice the car is. It tackles slick, hilly roads with no problem. It is exceptionally comfortable. It is loaded with modern technology. Its reliable and wows all of my friends. Dont believe everything you read, these are really top of the line in this price range.

  • Jeep Renegade Worst Auto ever - 2017 Jeep Renegade

The rare post from me: I’ve owned 20 plus cars and had at least that many rentals. The Jeep Renegade is by far, no question, hands down, the absolute worst vehicle. From mpg to comfort to transmission to clicky oil sounds when all gauges and dip stick say it’s full. It’s under powered which explains part of the mpg fiasco (I got better mileage in an F250). But the worst, pull your hair out it’s so frustrating, is the Radio/Nav. The console does this weird press the up arrow to go down in the menu - thought that was quirky during the test drive - but the Radio/Nav....If its not getting you lost, it’s playing music from some random station you didn’t pick. And it has this Love/hate relationship with my smart phone: it loves to place random calls when you plug in and hates when you would rather listen to radio while plugged in. Just stay away from this poorly designed, from top to bottom, inside and out, 2017 Trail Rated Jeep Renegade. This is the worst (add expletives) automobile in the universe

  • Very surprised! Like a Miniature Wrangler - 2017 Jeep Renegade

Handles great, acceleration is good, not a rocket but good. Not bad for a 4 banger. It feels tightly built, but comfortable and handles like a Wrangler 2 door somewhat. Lots of nice creature features. I love my little Renegade! It actually looks "beefy" next to my wifes patriot.

This is a light duty, mini, SUV. Its not an off road Jeep, its not a luxury Grand Cherokee Limited. Its a fairly good quality marketing hybrid made with a Fiat frame, a " world " engine and an automatic transmission with with too many gear changes and confused programming. The big engine needs a turbo to be taken seriously, the transmission needs an economy / performance dash control. A transmission that shifts every 200 to 600 rpm on level road every time the wind shifts its not right!

  • Love my Renegade! - 2016 Jeep Renegade

We were looking for a sporty SUV to be able to get good gas, have a manual transmission and also fit a car seat for my 6 month old baby. We were torn between the Nissan Rogue and the Jeep Renegade. The jeep has a lot of head-room,so since we are a tall family that was a must! I was adamant on having a manual transmission, since thats all I have ever owned and plus they are just a ton of fun to drive. We went to a car show and the Jeep is what we picked out of all of the vehicles we looked at. The latitude version that we got did not have the cold weather package or navigation, but we did get the sunroof with removable panels! After owning this for a month, I still really love my jeep. It drives like a dream in the snow, it heats up really fast so I really dont find myself regretting not getting the cold weather package; the gas mileage is amazing (I average between 24-26mpg); the manual transmission is smooth and the uphill assist is pretty cool for those hills at stoplights. I am also really loving the sunroof, with the removable panels...this is a must and I use it all the time. I find myself wishing for Navigation, but nothing that my phone cant fix for now and I might end up changing out the system down the road. But the radio is really nice, and the Bluetooth set-up was really simple with my Microsoft phone, and it works great for everything that I need! My complaints: The cup holders. There is only two in the front seat area, and then angled ones in all of the doors that you can only use bottled drinks. The backseat has no cup holder except the door ones for bottles. This seems really inconvenient since sometimes I have more than two people in the car and if we go to Starbucks then only two people can use the cup holder for their drinks. My other complaint would have to be the e-brake. Its just a button...and it kind of weirds me out since its not a lever that I am used to. It hasnt failed or anything bad, its just something different that I need to get used to. The back trunk area is pretty small, but thats what you get with a smaller SUV, I am able to fit a small stroller with no issues in the back. Overall...I just need to find a fix for the cup-holder situation and its perfect. I never thought that I could find a sporty SUV to drive my daughter around instead of a mom SUV, Sedan or Van. *all of the hidden Jeep Easter-eggs are a cool addition too!!!

I was really curious about this vehicle, so I rented one to drive from NC to FL. It was a 2WD 2.4L 9A Latitude trim level. The seats are very supportive, the steering was tight and I thought the vehicle handled very well. The ride was a little choppy for what I consider a car more than a truck. The very first thing I did not like was the automatic transmission. It was constantly changing at speed and almost drove me nuts, felt like the engine was missing or something. Finally, I discovered the way to overcome this was to pull it over to manual mode and shift it yourself. On the first leg of my trip I only averaged 27mpg allowing the vehicle to shift itself. I checked the mpg history on the computer and it read 21.5. Not good. On the way back, I manually shifted it and achieved 32mpg, which I believe exceeds the manufacturer claims. This was averaging about 65mph. So the folks that claim you need a manual transmission may have forgotten the auto has a clutchless manual mode. The 2.4 also has a lower torque curve than the turbo. I had a dealers license for almost 20 yrs as well, and from a resale perspective I would suspect a manual transmission might be very difficult to sell. This is not a Wrangler. I have 3 Jeeps, 2 XJs and a Comanche. They all have the 4.0L six, feel nothing like this car, but Id like to hear what folks have to say about the Trailhawk.
