New exterior cladding has been slapped onto the Laredo, and both models have received interior touch-ups. Two-wheel drive is available with the 4.7-liter V8. Shale Green and Silverstone are the new skin tones.

Pros:
  • Flawless 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain vehicle.
Cons:
  • Gear whine, brakes feel slow to respond.

Good solid vehicle. I really like taking it off road even though its not 4wd.

For the price the quality is not built into the car. Many little but annoying problems. Humming noise from the transmition. Electrical problems with overhead console. This is my second Jeep, I will try another brand next time.

This was my 2nd Cherokee. I have enjoyed driving this car although I will never get a 6 cyl. engine in a car this heavy again. I got great mileage but a little sluggish getting on the highway. The overall reliability has been unbeatable with the exception of the brakes pads. I replace pads about every 15,000 miles. It has gotten me through many Northeast snow storms with solid performance.

  • I Hate This Jeep! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

When I bought this truck, I loved it. Since then it has been one thing after another. It started shaking and I found out that the coil packs had to be changed. That wasnt too bad. But then my heater coils and blower motor had to be replaced. That was quite expensive. I can say that it has never left me on the side of the road. Thats a plus, but I will never buy one again.

  • Love my Jeep - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had my 2000 since it was new. I could not be more pleased. My wife drives it so I rarely get the chance but I hope in 7 more years when we replace it for her I can finally drive it daily. The in line 6 should still be fine. The people that drive in 6" of snow and want a car feel should stick with the front wheel drive models which should be called SVs or better yet Mini Van. They should save their money and get triple A in case they get stuck in a ditch. Either way they may need to make the call. Jeep has few contenders but many pretenders! Yes I am biased

This is our second new Jeep GC Ltd. The performance is marvelous! I blew away a Mitsubishi Eclipse at a stop light.

  • ITS NO TOYOTA - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

More quality is needed in the vendor parts dept. Brakes, head, radiator, grill; these are parts that had to be replaced at 25000 miles/3 years, along with new ignition switch.

  • Good vehicle for non-HWY drivers - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Purchased it off the lot new and loved the style and design. This was my first SUV and although I was happy with many things, I COULDNT STAND the alternater "whine" in the vehicle. Had some "odd" problems with it and got nervous as it approached 60K miles.

I bought my JGC about a month ago and it has 115,000 miles and so far I love it. The CD player has a mind of its own sometimes, but what do you expect for a 13 year old Jeep. Ive owned several SUVs and I have to say its been my favorite. I can honestly say I maybe sold on Jeeps. This wont be my last.

  • JEEP = JUNK - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Warning! Jeeps are junk! I purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 V6 and had nothing but problems with it. First the braker rotors had to be resurfaced, then the fuel pump, then the passenger side window motor and finally the door locks. All of this within 17,450 miles! This should never happen to a new car with that few miles (Poor quality control).
