99 Jeep Cherokee - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By Togdsp - August 23 - 2:00 amNot a bad vehicle for the price. No major repairs but had to replace driver side window. I noticed that the check engine light comes on if gas cap is not properly replaced. Approaching 50K miles. Vehicle has gotten alot louder within the past 5k miles, on the front end and with little squeaks here and there.

1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By mjt1727 - August 21 - 10:53 amThe 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic is a very utilitarian vehicle. It is a bit loud on the road, does not have the best gas mileage, and the six cylinder engine is adequate. That being said, there have been absolutely no major issues and the vehicle just keeps running.

Nothing Can Replace It! - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By Binski - June 22 - 3:53 amI have had my Jeep since my junior year of high school. It got me to and from college countless times, three moves, and even an annual 1,000 mile round trip vacation. This car has never broken down and I have never needed roadside assistance in the 8 years I have owned it. However, AC finked out at 90,000 and many minor repairs were also made, adding up quite a bit. But I cant complain, this car is the epitome of reliable- snow storms, white outs, blinding rain? No problem, always has got me through! The design has no bells and whistles, mine doesnt even have cruise control, but thatss what makes this car fun! Its a truck and meant to be simple.

Good Affordable SUV - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By judge09 - June 17 - 2:00 amI have had this cherokee sport for 3 years and have been very happy. The power is great, the ride is fine, its a solid truck. The only problem I have had is both front power windows crapped out. $400 they work fine. Overall great jeep.

Seriously... my best friend in the world. - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By SnowBray - June 15 - 7:13 pmMy Jeep is the first car I ever bought for over 2k. Ive had it since 2001, and it has been the greatest car ever. I never want to get rid of it -- its like family to me now. It has required little maintenance and has taken me all over the country. Its got about 82k on it, but drives and looks brand new.

A great friend - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By Joe - April 22 - 2:10 pmI am retiring my 99 Jeep Cherokee Classic. I love this vehicle!! It still looks great after two wrecks and a 150,000 miles. I plan on having a little work done on it and then putting it in storage until my son turns 18 (18 years from now). It will be a hell of a gift for him - this is truly a classic vehicle and, in a way, I wish Jeep would bring the XJ style back but in another way I love the fact that I have one and they are not as easy to get anymore.

Still a champ in my book! - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By babsj - March 19 - 2:00 amMy 99 Limited 4WD is still going strong @ 57K miles and Im very happy with my purchase. No major problems, regular maintenance is easy, and the vehicle has been pretty trouble-free. I now use RXP fuel additive and get an extra 1-2 mpg and peppier performance while burning cleaner than ever! Window regulator replaced under warranty, new thermostat last year, battery, tires, 1 headlight. 1 tiny crack in leather seat which is easy to fix. No brake problems but will replace them soon per normal wear and tear. 17 mpg in city, 20 highway. Love my Jeep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

99 classic - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By Robert Bigs - January 29 - 10:00 amThis is a classic and good looking vehicle. The gas milage is reasonable and the features are more than I need. I like the capability of using it on or off road. It is a great bang for your buck.

Not that great..... - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By jeepsport99 - December 13 - 5:03 pmFor a Jeep I expected more. This vehicle has been nothing but problems. Shocks every 30 thousand miles, $1500 for upper and lower ball joints, both front bearings/hubs replaced, passenger rear leaf spring replaced, both O2 sensors replaced, clunky drive line. Now at 107,000 miles, water pump may be going. I think the most annoying thing to me is how the rear end sags because the leaf springs wear by design. Luckily I had a extended warranty up to 75,000 miles otherwise I would have been really upset. One thing that is good is that during the summer months I can get 20 mpg from the 190 hp inline six. This is a poor product and Chrysler Jeep should be ashamed.

Dependable and Trouble-free Jeep - 1999 Jeep Cherokee
By mikeglenn - November 18 - 10:00 amI have found this vehicle to be one of the best vehicles I have owned for the money. In 4 years and 75,000 miles, the only problem has been a wheel bearing. It rides a little rough and is noisey, but I can live with it because it has been so trouble-free. I liked my Jeep so well, I leased one for my son a few months after purchasing myne. He drove his for 3 years with no problems either.
