Overview & Reviews
For 2004, Jaguar has reduced the base price of the X-Type 3.0 by almost $3,000. In other news, the Sport Package now includes 18-inch wheels and a 320-watt sound system. All X-Types get redesigned alloy wheels, as well as a revised front bumper and new foglights. The trunk lid has been reshaped and the push-button release for the trunk is now easier to operate.
- Comfortable highway ride, attractive styling inside and out, standard all-wheel drive, large trunk.

By nikestud785 - December 21 - 10:00 amThis car drives and handles well, and it has exceeded my expectations. The car is adequately equipped, and it looks more classy than any of the cars in its peer group.

I love it! - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By Robins - September 29 - 3:03 amWhere else can you find a prestige vehicle with more class than a BMW, a fun 5 speed and AWD? Those who criticize the are certainly not drivers. This car is fun to push! The AWD is great in the rain and aids in acceleration. I negotiated a very low purchase price I recommend this car to all who enjoy driving!

Its a real Jaguar! - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By C.B. Hoffman - August 9 - 10:00 amFor those who have dreamed about owning a Jaguar but found it out their reach, the 2.5L x -type is the right place to start. I found road handling excellent, and the car responds well, both on curves and on the straightaway. The AWD is really good in the snow. The five speed transmission handles well, but drivers should remember that the clutch-gas-clutch-gas syndrome in heavy traffic takes some getting used to. But the best thing about the Jaguar is what is what has been its trademark since the beginning: Its beautiful. Mine is British racing green, and people actually stop and stare at the car, both in traffic and when its parked.

Better than led to believe - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By Jag person - July 15 - 8:03 amAfter reading the negative on-line reviews from professionals, I held my breath after buying my Jaguar. Perhaps because of low expectations, I was and continue to be delighted by my driving and ownership experience. Im not sure who reviewers think is driving BMWs and Audis and Mercedes, but the average driver is going to get plenty of performance from an X-type. I am a driving enthusiast who drives cars hard. If I had any more speed or handling than my Jag provides, I would probably have a fistful of speeding tickets. I sincerely doubt that drivers of the other sports sedans use the difference in performance that I will admit is probably there. And as for cachet, just try to beat a Jaguar!

Outstanding Car - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By lydia - June 2 - 5:36 amThis has been a truly outstanding vehicle. We have 22000 miles without a single problem other than the tires wearing out very prematurely. Service has been outstanding. Fantastic in snow.

JAGUAR...ITS VEGAS BABY!!! - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By OmiyaLove - April 9 - 10:00 amIt was love at first sight! Then we test drove our Jaguar X-Type and what a pleasure it was! We choose the 5-speed and what a job it does, especially on tight curves, Jag hugs them tightly and smoothly. From the sleek lines of the Jag body, to the 7 layer Platinum paint job with the black leather interior this vehicle is lustrous and smooth, glide your fingers over the paint job...its like butter!

The critics arent always right. - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By Trenton Critic - March 8 - 2:00 amCritics are pretty tough on this car but I disagree. The car is beautifully styled. The interior looks great. The seats are extremely comfortable. The wood trim is gorgeous and the controls are generally easy and intuitive. The engine is powerful enough particularly with the manual.Brakes are powerful, handling is balanced and precise. All wheel drive is a definite plus-no slipping, skidding or torque steer. Unfortunately, there are still some quality control issues. The shifter cables had to be replaced due to very sloppy shift quality. Also the clutch is difficult to modulate and too abrupt. Overall tho, this is an excellent car at the right price.
