Overview & Reviews
For 2004, Jaguar has reduced the base price of the X-Type 3.0 by almost $3,000. In other news, the Sport Package now includes 18-inch wheels and a 320-watt sound system. All X-Types get redesigned alloy wheels, as well as a revised front bumper and new foglights. The trunk lid has been reshaped and the push-button release for the trunk is now easier to operate.
- Comfortable highway ride, attractive styling inside and out, standard all-wheel drive, large trunk.

Outstanding Car - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By lydia - June 2 - 5:36 amThis has been a truly outstanding vehicle. We have 22000 miles without a single problem other than the tires wearing out very prematurely. Service has been outstanding. Fantastic in snow.

it needs a little work - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By billgerry - May 18 - 12:30 pmThe X is a truly fabulous car to drive. It handles curves like a champ, and at 120 mph, it still has power to spare. It was annoying to have the transmission replaced at 20k - with 5 others in the shop ahead of mine. Cheap plastic items, like gas cap covers break easily, and a number of electronic problems, like sunroof controls, keep cropping up, requiring the inconvenience of shop visits.

JAGUAR...ITS VEGAS BABY!!! - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By OmiyaLove - April 9 - 10:00 amIt was love at first sight! Then we test drove our Jaguar X-Type and what a pleasure it was! We choose the 5-speed and what a job it does, especially on tight curves, Jag hugs them tightly and smoothly. From the sleek lines of the Jag body, to the 7 layer Platinum paint job with the black leather interior this vehicle is lustrous and smooth, glide your fingers over the paint job...its like butter!

The critics arent always right. - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By Trenton Critic - March 8 - 2:00 amCritics are pretty tough on this car but I disagree. The car is beautifully styled. The interior looks great. The seats are extremely comfortable. The wood trim is gorgeous and the controls are generally easy and intuitive. The engine is powerful enough particularly with the manual.Brakes are powerful, handling is balanced and precise. All wheel drive is a definite plus-no slipping, skidding or torque steer. Unfortunately, there are still some quality control issues. The shifter cables had to be replaced due to very sloppy shift quality. Also the clutch is difficult to modulate and too abrupt. Overall tho, this is an excellent car at the right price.

Excellent Choice - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By LongIslandAl - February 19 - 10:00 amOur first Jaguar after years of Lexus and Infiniti. So far the Jag is awesome. Great looking, great handling and an excellent overall choice. Interior appointments are first class and the ride is far better than we anticipated. Hugs the road and accelerates smoothly and easily. No hiccups in the transmission and braking is effortless. After considering Lexus and Infiniti, we are very happy with the huge savings and comparable performance.

LOVE IT! - 2004 Jaguar X-Type
By trevorlee - January 18 - 2:00 amI love this car. I drive a lot. I use to worry about the snow. NOW, I love driving in the snow. The all wheel drive and comfortav=ble cabin makes this car my favorite so far. It does get bit tight in the rear seats though. But that is the only con so far.
