  • Lots of Car for the Money - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

After owing BMW’s since 1987, this car turned my head with the combination of safety and performance features at a reasonable price. The amenities (sun roof, Bose Stereo, etc.) only add to the overall value you get for your dollar. On the performance side, the power curve is smooth throughout all ranges and when needed, has the high end power to plant you firmly in your seat. I would suggest this car to anyone who is looking for performance, comfort, and style at a reasonable price.

  • Brakes, comfort & road noise - 2004 Infiniti G35

Im not a car buff but I find the brakes on this car to be a bit touchy. They seem to grab too quickly giving a jerky braking motion. This car is meant for 4 passengers, not 5. It also becomes uncomfortable to drive for long periods of time. And road noise!! It is the worst I have ever experienced. I thought my previous car, the Chevy Impala was loud, but this car is even worse. Going 70 on a highway one cant even hear what the other is saying without having to talk loud and when it rains the noise is deafening. My car does come with a sun roof.. perhaps that is why it is loud when it rains, but I also had a sunroof in my Impala and It was not loud like this one.

  • Great car, awful milage - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I love driving this car. I think the lines are as beautiful as any car on the road sub 90k. That said, this thing is not a gas mileage champ. My combination of city/hwy driving has yielded only 18mpg, a far cry from the window sticker.

  • Fun to drive - 2004 Infiniti G35

So far so good one year into ownership of my 2004 G35 Sedan. This is truly a "sports" sedan, very fun to drive with a lot of get up and go. The car is roomy enough for four adults to travel comfortably, the rear seat room is plenty big. Very rigid frame, solid feeling on the road. I love the styling and performance of the car, very pleased with it. Purchased used with 37k miles and it has not disappointed. Negatives would be the a/c and heat controls are confusing, front seat could be a bit more comfortable. This is not a soft luxury ride, my sport suspension package is very much a drivers car. The engine is a bit loud but that is the nature of this car - sports sedan.

  • Value Price Tag but Costly to Drive - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

After over 2 years, Im starting to see that the G35 can be costly to drive. I only get about 20 mpg combined w/mostly highway driving on a 6MT(below EPA estimates). Im filling my tank about as often as I filled up my previous car that had a tank half as big and took regular UL. The rear tires were at the 2mm wear limit after only 22k mi -- tires that cost about $250/tire. The Brembo pads will probably last to almost 50k mi, but will cost three times as much as other pads. Rotor swaps will cost over a grand. Even so...the handling, acceleration, and exterior styling still bring a smile to my face. The interior lacks a bit. The NAV is difficult to use because of the jumpy joystick.

  • BMW 330 Killer - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

I have always longed for a MBW 3-series but when I test drove a BMW330i sedan in 2004 I balked at the price and walked away wanting a little more torque and horsepower. I am very impressed with the higher torque and horsepower of the g35s sweet V6 and the smoothness of its five-speed automatic transmission. The G35s handling and braking characteristics are at least as good as the 330i sedan and both the interior and the exterior are more attractive. Even after test drving the newly redesigned 2005 BMW sedan I still have no regrets.

  • Thumbs up - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive only owned the car for just over a month, but couldnt be happier. I got the all-wheel drive. I took it out one night on a winding back road in a heavy thunderstorm and put it through the paces. It corners like its on rails. No looseness in the rear whatsoever. Impressive performance.

  • Customer No Service - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

My G35 has only 47,000 on it and is using 1 1/2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. My dealer states that this is acceptable and that it is normal to have to add oil between changes. ( I change oil every 3000 miles). This is unacceptable for a car that is this expensive. They have refused to address this problem even though warranty is still in effect. Oil light never comes on. The rack and pinion steering has had a leak and is having to be replaced.

  • Wish it were more like my 90 ZX - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Overall the car is good. Not as good as my Nissan 1990 ZX was when I bought it new. The seats are very uncomfortable. Also, not as much shoulder and hip room as the old Z. The suspension is good but not as compliant on rough surfaces as the 90 Z ... has some wheel hop. Road noise is high. Wind noise is high. Has a few rattles and squeaks. The Z was rattle free for 7 years. Dont think of it as a luxury car ... its a sporty car. Cerritos Infiniti has been a great dealer.

beautiful exterior, great motor, they scrimped on the little things- the struts that should hold the hood up, the seats that should have more adjustments, the plastics that are not up to the rest of car
