Other changes include a standard tire-pressure monitoring system, Low Emissions Vehicle status and a revised front console with an additional cupholder on leather-equipped six-speed coupes. 2004 also sees the addition of an all-wheel-drive sport sedan to the G35 lineup.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

Great performance. Still get positive comments on the design. Fun to drive. Only issue is tightness. Several rattles and the sunroof is very noisy (creakes with any body flex at all). Mileage is average, which is fine for the performance.

  • The best compromise of luxury and sport - 2004 Infiniti G35

I have owned Infiniti G35 sedan for more than a year already. This car has spacious cabin, very smooth powerful engine, agile handling, and well- proportioned sporty look. The ride is a little stiff when compared to Toyota Camry. The people who are used to the Camry steering feel probably would find this cars steering heavy, especially when maneuvering in parking lots. The navigation system tells me I am consuming 18mpg fuel, not that good. Talking about Navi, I have never missed a destination by its feminine and friendly voice route guidance. The leather seat is much easier to get used to after a long under-the-sun park.

This is a great car--truly a 350Z with 4 seats. The VQ v6 is a strong engine--feels like a v8--so the car is fast. Not so much on the refinement end. Last car was a BMW 330ci (coupe), and while it was a half tick slower, it was more refined: better ride, fewer squeaks and rattles, etc. Truly the G35 is a 4-seat Z or a poor- mans BMW. But great car for all that!

  • Paint Job - 2004 Infiniti G35

The paint on infinity G35s are terrouble!I have called about my paint job when I had it only 3 months, they know this is a major defect and will not do anything about it because if they fix mine they know they will have to repaint everyones. They use less paint than other dealerships and less clear coat. I was told this by the person in charge of making decisions on repairs. My cars paint looks old and dull. The bugs ate through the paint 3 months after I purchased it. They will not return phone calls and refuse to look at it. I will never buy a infinity again! Every person I see driving a Infinity, I make sure I tell them about the paint.

  • Lots o small problems - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive got to echo the 8/31 Kimmel review.I luv the look of the coupe, both int & ext.But for a car that doesnt have 5K miles,it has come with alot of irritating problems.I have brought the car in 3 times for the same rattling in the back speakers, which finally on the 3rd visit to the dealership, was resolved because there is no insulation between the "particle board" and the car body. Also have problems with the pwr windows,as there is a problem with air coming thru the top insulation of the door.I would say that Infiniti, due to the overwhelming demand for this model, cut corners, and rushed these cars out to the lots, improperly constructed.

  • For a More Balanced View - 2004 Infiniti G35

If your last car was a chevy, then you will be impressed. The more experienced buyer will note pluses and minuses. Yes, performance, offset by lower gas mileage. Yes, handling, offset by more road noise. Yes, cool instrument pod/ventilation. No will include pixx poor 220watt sound system, ugly brake dust, gas cap on right side, hidden mirror control.

  • Fun Sedan - 2004 Infiniti G35

I owned Maximas for 10 years prior to buying the G35. I wondered what the big deal could be between the two. What a mistake, the driving experience between the two cannot be compared. The G35 is extremely agile for a 3400 lb car. I find the interior quite pleasing, especially after looking at some 3 series BMW interiors. The VQ motor is a jewel, not real strong out of the hole but really pulls well through the rest of the RPM range. Cornering with the "midship" design platform was quite pleasing and for the first time, actually made me realize that the car would allow me to corner faster than I wanted to. I am extremely pleased with the G35 and my wife loves it too.

  • NOT ALL THAT - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

ItÂ’s a fun, powerful car that handles well. But there are many little things that add up, making it just an OK car overall. No memory in the seats, poor interior fit and finish, very soft paint (every tiny pebble chips paint). After a year there are more interior rattles than the local dealership can address.

  • bad brakes? - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

excessive brake dust on front alloy wheels...wheels always dirty...am i going to have to replace linings too often...worse yet dealer said this is NORMAL..rear end cut out on me ...my level of confadence is low...perhaps bmw 3 series is worth the extra 7k

  • Move over 3-series - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

Absolutely a blast to drive, especially with the windows down listening to the mellifluous exhaust notes the handling is way better than any 3-series bimmer. Has very unique, elegant and sophisticated styling cues. Stereo is pretty darn good producing very tight bass and brilliant highs... Too many things this already great car can improve on but then again, considering the price factor, there simply is not car out there with more bang for the buck in terms of raw power and sophistication (technology) dollar for dollar.
