This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • a drivers car, watch out bmw - 2005 Infiniti G35

Drive this car the way it was made to be driven when you test drive the G35. You will be disappointed if you want luxurious feel. (not a g35). RWD is one of the main reasons I bought the car. Take notice that Lexus or Acura isnt in in the comparos with Infinity, BMW, Caddilac in most of the car magazines. You soon realize the G35 is all buisness when push the car hard and you unleash the hidden beast. The 6MT model is even more of a value. I know it doesnt drive 100% like a BMW, nor does it cost like one either. I bought this car for the long haul so I have little worries when the warranty runs out. Dont expect Civic gas mileage your getting 298hp not 98hp. I love this car!

  • Beautiful, fast, reliable but... - 2005 Infiniti G35

Bought this coupe used with only 24,000 miles on it. Loved the exterior styling and the handling (still do). Its been very reliable except the drivers side power window, but I only put about 7500 miles a year on the car. The owners manual recommends premium gas but it will drive OK on regular. Bose sound system is fine. I dont have nav. Climate control works great. Front seats are OK, but my wife complains about them and about getting out of the low seat. Not much knee room in back. Interior materials were never luxurious but still look nice. Trunk is a little small but the back seat folds down for extra cargo space. The car sits low, which looks good and maybe aids handling and aerodynamics, but can be a problem with parking blocks, large potholes and other roadway hazards where underside clearance could be an issue. Pros: Outstanding handling and plenty of power. Very stable and fun to drive on the highway, if it is not icy or snowy. Drives well in town too, if not icy or snowy. Exhaust has nice but not intrusive tone. Solid, gorgeous, sporty car. Cons: Road noise is high at all speeds above 20 mph. New, quiet-tread tires help some, but still noisy by modern standards; gas mileage not great even using premium, would be better if the automatic had another gear or two; terrible traction in snow with just all-season tires; have replaced drivers side window motor twice. But for the road noise and the lack of traction in snow, I would drive this car anywhere the roads are paved and good, across the country or across town.

What an experience this car has been! The AWD performed flawlessly in a recent severe rain storm and the handling is leaps and bounds better than anything I have test driven. WAY better than the Acura TL although fit and finish on the TL & ES330 were better. The car is a lot of fun to drive but Ive heard one creak and one rattle so far (only 800 miles in) which is cause for a little concern but Im usually listening to music so its no big deal. Its faster than anything else out there on the road so if you need passing power, this has it! The ride is "harsh" if you compare it to a Lexus or Acura because its a lot sportier and faster than those cars. Its not perfect but damn close.

Overall, this car is a great ride for the money. I looked long and hard to find this quality, power and finess for under 40K and when it came time to decide, it was the easist decision Ive ever made. A quick note though, if you buy one, be prepared for a bumpy ride. The suspension is very tight - you will feel every bump on the road - the question is will you care?

Its been three days now, and I cant stop looking at my new Infiniti G35 Coupe. What a beauty! It handles great, and you cant ask for more power. The bucket seats are taking some time to get used too. Maybe Im too big for them, but I can deal with it. Cant see my self taking it for a long drive though, its not comfortable enough. Other than that, this is my dream car.

The only this i have to say bad about this vehicle is that the front seats are rather uncomfortable. I understand its a sports coupe, but its also suppose to be a luxury coupe. i feel they need to recline better and be more comfortable, but other that hands down, its a great car, and has great speed and handling.

  • Cant beat it for the money - 2005 Infiniti G35

I traded a 2003 G35 Sedan for this coupe. Cant beat the styling, but I cant believe memory seats are not offered. The exterior styling is top- notch, but interior comforts really are lacking. I think Lexus does a much better job on their interior, but their exterior styling is SO stodgy. So, I guess I can live with a few less bells and whistles on the inside, because I love all the head-turners I am seeing. I have actually had at least 20 people comment on what a beautiful car this is in parking lots in the the two and a half months I have owned it. Got the Lakeshore Slate. Its a GREAT color. Looks great day or night. For less than 40k you are not going to find a more satisfying car.

I love looking at and driving this car. I have talked with other owners who have complained about braking problems. I have not experienced this yet. My only dislike of the car is the limited headroom. I also have difficulty locating what I want on the instrument panel.

  • Sports car in a sedan body - 2005 Infiniti G35

What can you say? Its the best under $35K sport sedan on the market. Drive them all like I did and make your decision. AcuraTL, AcuraTSX, BMW 3-series, Audi A4. None of these cars offer the combination of performance, value, comfort, and handling that the G35 does. This car will beat all of the above mentioned competitors in 0-60, slalom, 60-0 braking, and the unmeasurable "fun to drive" element. I cant say enough good things about this car. Im in medical sales and put 20-25K miles/year on my car, and this baby makes me excited to hit the road. Just a fantastic all-around performer.

A beautifully designed car...a real head turner. Fun to drive. Solid build - no rattles after 5 months. Power to spare on the highway. This car goes where you point it on S curves.
