This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

We have had this vehicle for a little over a month now and thoroughly enjoy it. Powerful, quick, fun to drive, a joy to be seen in. The Discover Infiniti dealership in San Diego was fantastic to work with - we drove away with a peace of mind which allowed us to immediately enjoy our purchase. We have owned several sports cars in the past and feel for the money this is the best move we have made. We knew we had a winner when we pulled into our driveway and our friendly neighbor called us bastards with a smile on his face.

I drove all of the competition (BMW, Acura, etc) and to be completely honest, I would rather be driving a 3- series. However, there is no denying the fact that this car presents incredible value for the money. This car is literally 7 to 8 grand less than a comparable BMW. But some days I like it and others I dont. I have had the car for 3 to 4 months and there are squeaks and rattles creeping up which is simply unacceptable for a car like this. The car does have great features, exterior styling is very nice, and it is very comfortable. Gas mileage isnt great but I wouldnt really expect it with nearly 300hp.

My wife wanted a TL. Drove one, loved it. Then, she drove a G35. Its hard to beat a rear wheel drive when it comes to performance.

Ive had my Athens Blue 6MT coupe with aero kit for 3 months now and couldnt be happier. The performance is all you could expect with the 298 horses that just keep pushing the fairly small car wherever and however fast you want it. The ride is firm (you do feel the road) but not harsh. I bought the car, so I obviously like the styling. However, this is the first car Ive owned where other people comment on how much the like it. I think the rear spoiler and front dam really set it off. Also the 19" wheels on the sports coupe look great and show off the huge brakes. I got a very good price armed with my edmunds report. Would have had to spend thousands more to get the BMW I looked at.

I think that the new g356 is much better than leading competetior acura t. I like the increase in hp and torque.

I Just purchased a new G 35 with the premium and sport packages and it does not disappoint. This car is everything magazines have been raving about and MORE! It is now clear why BMW needs to revamp its 3 series to remain competitive in this market segment. If you are looking for a a luxury sports car that moves like you would not believe, looks great, and will not break the bank, then the G35 (NOT THE 330) is what you should buy. As far as I am concerned, this is the new benchmark in this car segment. Time for BMW to move over!

I sold Volvos and BMWs for a few years so I am used to cars that perform and feel safe and solid. The G35 is a fantastic combination of performance, value, fun, comfort and quality without being "in your face." For those who arent hung up on the BMW brand name but want the same kind of vehicle, this is the one. It is admittedly a little less refined than the BMW but to me, thats part of the attraction. Like the BMWs were in the late 90s before they became too quiet and too luxurious. Will likely get a new 2009 when the lease is up. Fabulous car.

Purchased a 05 4dr with premium & sport package in feb of 05. Put over 40k on the odometer in less than 2 years. The car has met most of my expectations, but has fallen short on a couple of things: Good - engine performance, handling, acceleration, sport shift, reliability. Not so good - Fit and finish of the interior is not up to par with Acura/Lexus/BMW competition. Example - rear windows squeak and creak with any acceleration or slight bump in the road.

Incredible performance, especially accelerating through curves, great power, well designed and functional interior. Compared this with the Acura TSX and TL and maybe its just me growing up with rear wheel drive sports cars, but the Infiniti seemed head and shoulders above the Acuras. The dealer was great, too. I guess people complained about the interior in earlier years -- looked at the 03 and 04, and the 05 looks as good as the Acura to me.
