This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • Strictly OK - 2005 Infiniti G35

Loved this car for the first few months, but then the noises started. Replaced all the window tracks in the doors at 19k, rattle in the A-pillar started soon after and still persists (I drive 80 miles a day, so pretty obnoxious). Brakes have squealed the entire time Ive had the car, despite replacing the front and rear pads and front rotors. I also had to take electrical tape to the electronic rear view mirror to keep it from rattling. Of course, the dealer cannot diagnose any of these problems (and I would have to pay for them to do so as rattles arent covered under warranty). Frankly I would rather have a german car with lots of mechanical problems that they can at least be diagnosed.

  • Lovin it - 2005 Infiniti G35

I got my G35 for my college graduation present and I LOVE IT! Its just beautiful to look at. I like driving it too! Mine is silver/ grey interior w/ sport package. The sport package is a plus because the 18 wheels are nice. I like how the car hugs the road around corners and is definitely a head turner. Ive had my car for 3.5 months and I already have 4,000 miles. Had a small problem with the cup holder but my Infiniti dealer got me a new one. Troncalli Infiniti in Atlanta where I got my car was great but I recently visited Infiniti of Nashville and the service was horrible. Plus they charged me $50 for just an oil change. Other then that, Im lovin my car.

  • G35: From mine to hers, no getting back! - 2005 Infiniti G35

I bought it "for me," my wife drove it that same evening, I have not gotten it back since. I have never heard her talk about loving a car, but, she LOVES "her 2003 G35 Coup." Truly a great car; Fun, stylish, eye catching, powerful, smooth ride, excellent transmission using either automatic or optional manual. I will now make excuses to go to the store, taking "her" car, then logging 20 miles for a 3 mile round trip. Although I loved my 94 "40" Anniversary Corvette, the speed and handling of the G35 is (I truly believe)better than the Corvette. Having owned many fun, stylish or powerful cars, the G35 combines all three characteristics into one HOT CAR. We("SHE")LOVES our(HER) G35 Coup.

  • A good Q car - 2005 Infiniti G35

Ive had my G35 for 4 years now and I used to change cars regularly. Previous cars were BMWs and Mercedes but I got tired of the exorbitant costs involved in just keeping them going. This last time I looked at the little BMWs and Mercedes and thought why not try something different? So I looked at the Infiniti G35 and the Lexus GS300. There was not much of a cost difference and the Infiniti seemed like so much more car for the money. People complain about the mileage. I get a solid 21 mpg with 80% hwy driving. Thats excellent for a heavy car with a powerful engine. Sadly it does drink premium only.

Well built and tight. Powerful and responsive, sleek new look and very well built. Bose stereo is awesome.

  • Great choice over Lexus ES330 - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

I did extensive research beween the G35 and Lexus ES330. I originally went to Lexus b/c of the brand name, but was told to also check out the G35. Im sure glad I did! The performance is outstanding, and the interior quality gives up nothing to Lexus. The ride is not quite as smooth or quiet, but the higher performance and sportier look more than make up for it. I highly recommend you check this vehicle out when shopping the entry-luxury category.

I still like this car, but after a few years it has its pros & cons. Avg MPG is 21.4 (city/highway) A lot of tiny things brings this car down. Be sure to visit a dealership if your car burns a lot of oil! Infiniti will perform a oil change & document your levels & have you return after 1,000 miles to see if you need a new engine. I will be getting a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD 6 M/T more reliability & about the same performance.

  • Very Sweet - 2005 Infiniti G35

I bought my coupe last month with all the bells and whistles. The cars a dream to drive, and it turns heads. As an engineer myself, I have a special appreciation for the challenges associated with successfully blending form and substance. Infinitis designers have achieved a wonderful balance between the cars appearance and performance. I was originally considering the BMW330i; but a test drive of both cars, along with the G35s appearance won me over to the G35. The slight difference in price of the two cars was not a factor in my decision.

  • I shouldve kept my Bimmer...bummer... - 2005 Infiniti G35

I was so excited when I got this car and I loved it for about the first 7000 miles. Then the tires were shot due to Infiniti/Nissans issues with the front end of the G35/350Z. I was assured it was an alignment problem and had that reset and 4 new tires put on to the tune of about $1600. Well, I made it about 12000 miles on these until the inside of the front tires were nearly shot again. They had now been swapped to opposite rims in the hopes they will make it until I can trade this thing in. Oh and I just found out I need new brakes and two new rotors and I just hit 30000 miles. What!?! I am not a "spirited" driver in this thing at all. It is fun to drive the G, but it will cost you!

  • Just Poor Quality - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

First, I love my infiniti but not sure why given the poor quality of the build. Problem 1. Cant fill it with gas. Fuel tank issues - took about a 1/2 dozen trips to the dealer to sort it out. Problem 2. Creaking from the front end. Dealer still troubleshooting but looks like its the suspension rods. Currently 5 sets on backorder and thats just 1 dealer! Problem 3. At 25000 miles my brakes are completely shot. $1,000 repair bill for new front rotors & pads, plus remachined rears and new rear pads. Thats $700 per year!!!
