Koreas Revenge - Watch your back, Japan - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By mmw56 - February 18 - 2:00 amThis is the inital model year for this car, yet it suffers from few "first year-itis" problems. A few features that were on my "wish list" were added for 2002.

Awesome Vehicle - at any price! - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By myparker - September 18 - 10:00 amWe went looking for a GM vehicle during the "Keep America Rolling" event last year, but couldnt find any car we liked under $30,000. By mere accident, I went and test drove the XG 300. Immediately, I called my wife and told her I had found THE CAR. At first we werent sure about buying a Hyundai, but we have not regretted it in the least. This car turns heads, is fun to drive, and I believe is the best kept secret around. I get to drive around in a car that rivals a Lexus ES 300 or an Acura TL, but without the huge monthly payment. Do yourself a favor - bypass all the Camrys, Accords, and Altimas, and get into something BETTER, an XG.

XG300L - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By Jimmy-Bob - May 30 - 2:00 amI Love my XG it is a great buy for the money. I had it back only 7 times, 3 times for the same problem with EGR system and 3 times because of tires where bad from Michelin tires. I had it back once for electrical but they got it fixed right away with a free loaner. That was great! The transmission def. can use improvments and also the suspension could use some improvements to recall the suspension would be a great Idea and make consumers happy. To many clunks and feel even little bumpes, but the 02 is a little better but still needs a little bit more on suspension, and the transmission still is no good.

XG LOVER - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By CIRRUS63 - December 7 - 2:00 amExterior receives a lot of compliments from both young and old. Vehicle is noisey on highway and most noticable when using handsfree cell phone. Has excellent passing abilities. Exterior factory paint not of high quality.

THE BIG LIES !!! - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By jizzag - July 19 - 10:00 amThe BIG LIES: First, the horsepower is 10 less than the respectable (for the money) 192 HP advertised, which was one my deciding factors in choosing the XG over other cars considered. Second, the "premium sound system" is NOT! Other disappointments: the "service engine" light still on after four service department visits, rusted brake drums, poor front interior lighting, inferior paint job. Im also very suspicious about the odometer accuracy. Otherwise, I still like my car a lot. Features usually found in cars that are more expensive are standard in the XG300L, which make its it still a best buy for the price. And the performance, even at 182 hp, is adequate.

Quoted Horse Power - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By Gill - July 24 - 2:00 amAlthough I love most things about my XG300L, I feel Hyundia deceived owners by misquoting its horsepower rating. I was also told there would be no change in the car (including engine size) for the next year. The increase of engine size and the model change to the XG350 surely devalues the XG300. I hope someone will initiate a class action suit against Hyundia.

XG 300L: Driving in Style at a Value - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By Auditor XG - May 11 - 2:36 amThis car is so nice and elegant. It has a lot of features, some even the $30K plus cars dont have. Hyundai offers a great warranty. Its amazing how Hyundai can pack so many features and so much quality into a vehicle that is 25% or more inexpensive then anything comparable to it. Beats my Buick!! - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By m. wolf - November 12 - 11:46 pmI purchased my 2001 XG300L used in Feb of 2005 with 26,419 miles. It only has 28,000 miles on it now and, as mentioned in another review, I have noticed a slight shudder when the auto transmission shifts. I took it to a local transmission shop for routine service (since the warranty didnt transfer) and they didnt seem too excited about it, so...well see. I was expecting better gas mileage. I am only getting 19-20 city (on good days!). Other than these concerns, I like it.

PROBLEM CAR - 2001 Hyundai XG300
By Chrystal - June 2 - 9:53 pmI have owned this car less than one year and its not a good car. Check engine light has came on 3 times, took car in three times for noise when shifting and acceleration problems. Currently my car is sitting in the shop, and has been for a week. They replaced my transmission, motor mounts, transmission mount, and reprogrammed my ECM and my car is still not running correctly. Luckily it only has 55,000 miles and is still under warranty. This car has more problems than it was worth and I have big time buyers remorse from this purchase. I have called Hyundai directly to note my dissatisfaction with their company but they dont seem to care. Always have to wait for parts on car too.
